Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Good point. I just wonder if Daima might attempt to recapture the 'magic' of SSJ by sort of going back to basics with it, as it were. Or ... a transformation that's unique for Daima. Not a recolor, a brand new design. That doesn't seem to be the case. Any new form will just be a recolour with very ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
By the way, there's something I've been wondering. Do we think Goku (and maybe Vegeta and the other Saiyans) will need to re-unlock Super Saiyan? I don't know, I just see that being the case, given the rumors that transformations won't be a big focus of this series (which I'm personally VERY gratef...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
After rewatching the first Teaser Trailer, I'm inclined to believe that the story takes place between the end of the Buu saga and Battle of Gods. According to the trailers, the Kaioshin and Kibito aren't fused in Daima, so it can't happen before Battle of Gods. I don't see why they'd make it after ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
As far as I can see, there is no evidence that Daima doesn't fall within the Super timeline. The absence of Beerus and Whis isn't evidence. Regardless, Daima is still a product of the Revival/Modern era, therefore it will share story beats with Super. I don't see this series having anything in comm...

Re: The end of "Akira Toriyama canon"
It's quite remarkable that the disdain for Super, to the extent of questioning its existence, is primarily found within the hardcore fanbase. If we broaden the sample and look at scores from a wider audience or renowned analysts, Super certainly doesn't receive a bad average score: - IMDb: 8.3/10 · ...

Re: Justin Chatwin apologizes for Dragonball Evolution
He doesn't need to apologize. But if he really felt that sorry all these years, why exactly wait untill Toriyama's passing to express this?
There are other, more constructive ways to pay tribute to Toriyama. Ben Ramsay expressed this in a more thoughtfull manner.

Re: The end of "Akira Toriyama canon"
We don't always know exactly how involved Toriyama still was with everything. He wasn't equally involved in everything. He did less for the manga and anime than for the films. But I believe his role and impact shouldn't be underestimated. He still wrote the scenarios and outlines for everything, des...

Re: The end of "Akira Toriyama canon"
Toriyama was a mangaka. He wrote and drew his own stories. So, everything that belonged to Toriyama's 100% canon included all manga publications he ever wrote and drew: Dragon Ball and related works within the same universe. But also works like Sandman, Dr. Slump... Anything involving Toriyama that ...

Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
RIP. My condoleances to the family and relatives.
This comes as a bombshell. I have no words for it.
My heart is filled with sadness today.
Dragon Ball will undoubtedly live on, but it will never be the same.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
In recent years, my interest in my once-beloved franchise had fizzled out, to say the least. The manga's progress was hopelessly slow, and Super Hero couldn't revive my enthusiasm either. A movie can be an interesting addition to manga and anime, but it can never be the main driving force of Dragon ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
The reactions to this film so far is in no way shape or form close to the severity of the Last Jedi's reception Just for loud fans. Last Jedi actually has a pretty good reviews and ratings outside of the vocal fanbase and youtubers with “movie disaster” videos. The Rise Of Skywalker actually is the...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 81 - Official Discussion Thread
I hope Gas gets nuked as soon as possible. It's the best thing that could happen for the story finally moving forward. I rather have Elec getting some powerup and the endgame. Somehow predictable, but way better than what we have now. What worries me this won't happen anytime soon is this Bardock -...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
The Broly movie really felt like constant ad spamming comparaded to this movie, at least on my eyes. I'm surprised we know so little of it too. Hell they outright spoiled Gogeta last time without any apparent hesitation. I really hope that if the movie does badly -which I doubt, but still- they don...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
In the Broly-thread four years ago there were constant guessings and discussions about what the exact plot of the movie would be. This movie will be released within 3 months, and there is still a lot room to fill in, but you don't find any meaningful further speculation about the content of the mov...

That's the biggest mistake hey have ever made with DBS. DB is originally not a series meant for little children. It is meant for adolescents. I know why they do this: they simply want to make more money out of it, but it ripps the soul from the series. Dragon Ball Super is absolutely meant for chil...
