Re: Latin American Super Dub Thread

What was the story with the Brazilian Portuguese scripts, and what were the chances the Latino dub took those instead of Funi's? Brazilian scripts were translated directly from Japanese by Marcelo Del Greco, but he also added some stupid jokes and memes in there, so most likely the LA Spanish scrip...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Toyo's Bardock doesn't look that bad. https://dragonball.news/news_images/toyotarou201810_01.jpg IT'S going to be a bit hard to say, but I think toyotaro is going to make a really good broly arc. To me, toyotaro really dropped the ball in the ToP saga (I think large part due to having to rush it to...

Re: LATIN AMERICAN DUB CONFIRMED (Brenda Nava Confirmed as translator!)

That opening was worse than I imagined. It makes "Vuela, Pega, y Esquiva" sound like a masterpiece. Probably what annoyed me the most is that quite a few lyrics are taken from Adrian Barba's version. I mean, if you're gonna steal his lyrics you might as well get him to sing the damn song, right? :ev...

Re: Has the existence of Ultra Instinct removed any tension from any future antagonists?

In a way Yes and No. Yes because whenever Goku is in trouble we'll keep thinking "shouldn't he trigger UI about now?", and No because as we saw against Jiren, even UI isn't enough against some opponents.

Re: Would you have liked to see Paikuhan/Pikkon in the Universe Survival Arc?

The thing is, we already got Piccolo. That's like saying you'd prefer to have Cooler in than Android 17. Derivative characters are superfluous, redundant. The fact that the writers thus far have never been able to give these characters anything in terms of interesting dynamics with other characters...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Sure he can. In the manga, Goku's Super Saiyan Blue form is on another level compared to what it was in Resurrection 'F' because he completed it since then. On top of that, it's specifically implied in the anime that Freeza was holding back against base Goku during the same arc. He definitely isn't...

Yes I would have liked to see him instead of 17. I think he is one character that should be more official. The thing is, we already got Piccolo. Re: Fox Will Distribute Dragon Ball Super Movie in Latin America

I hope they have enough time to dub it. As much as I loved Battle of Gods, you could tell they rushed the dub and it was really awkward in many places.

Re: What’s everyone’s opinion on how the manga has so far handled the Universe Survival arc compared to the anime?

Not a fan, really. I don't mind him underusing the characters (like my boy Tien) or the poor choreography in some of the fights: it's a different take on the story and I like we have two versions of the story, more to watch and all. My main issue is that Toyo's terrible in his presentation. I posted...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Finally got around to reading the latest chapter, and... man, what happened to Toyo? I haven't been a huge fan of the manga, but I could still respect he was trying to tell his own version and sometimes the fights were fun to look at, but these past few chapters have been terrible. The artwork is fl...

Re: What in the Universe Survival Arc did you hate most?

I mean would it really make sense for Tien NOT to be punched once by Gohan and be out of the fight? Tien is a human and throughout the entire story the humans were always far far behind the Saiyans. Gohan after his training with Piccolo was extremely strong and it would be irrational for Tien to be...

Re: Has Super impacted your opinion on GT at all?

It hasn't really changed my mind. You may see me joke around about GT being terrible, but I actually quite like it quite a lot. I watched it growing up, so flaws and all it has a special place in my heart.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

It goes to show how little importance was put on Piccolo in the outline and how those 2 Namakinas were just created to fill a number count for U6, not play any major role in the story or for Piccolo. I give the anime props for using the 3 better. Yeah, even if they didn't matter at the end we got t...

Re: Vegeta's incompetent

I just wanted it to actually mean something. It's Vegeta admitting defeat and putting all his faith in Goku, he's even crying as he gives the energy to him, and then 5 seconds later Goku uses that energy to do absolutely nothing except get destroyed again. I think what accomplished is that it made ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I wouldn't cling too tightly to that image of who Jiren seemed to be in chapter 30. Expect him to reveal a very different face by the end. There's certainly no need to cling to that; I don't doubt that we could potentially see a darker side to Jiren as the arc approaches its climax. The manga is cl...

Re: Dragon Ball Super's power levels are much lower than GT

Gohan has been training since the end of Resurrection F, though. You see him during the Universe 6 Arc, and arguably at the end of the Black Arc where he says goodbye to Trunks. I really don't know why people keep ignoring that.

Re: Piccolo needs a new power-up

I'd love for him to get stronger, but not equal to Goku or the others. The thing I like about him is that he's strong but fights by using his brain and all his awesome techniques. I feel his perfect place would be at around SSJG level, then using all his moves (extending his arms, maybe growing gian...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

While I didn't find this chapter great, I don't have many things to complain but there's two things that confuse me: 1) Why is Goku using SSJ2 and keep up with Toppo and Dyspo? My main confusion is that Toppo pre-God Ki was so strong SSJ3 Goku couldn't even react to him. So Toppo not serious is str...
