So, I went to see it a couple of weeks ago.
And yeah, it was probably the best "Dragon Ball" Movie I've seen.
So here's my rundown.

I love Dragon Ball, but it's far from my favourite. Cowboy Bebop is probably my favourite.
Dragon Ball is just dumb fun.

It's just so surreal.
It doesn't help that when I was much younger, I used to think it was the original Japanese voice actors (I was like 5 at the time...).

Big Green at times sounds like a legit dub for something.
At least some of VA are fine.

I think in the media of Manga it works, as it is a print media meaning it's easier to keep back issues of and keep an archive, so forgetting a character/event or coming in later can let the reader easily go back and catch themselves up with current events, making Chi Chi's arrival in the Tournament ...

I kind of put the Movies as being Side-Stories to the anime.
It's like a Game like Fallout where you have the main quest (or whatever quest you are following) and you gear off into a side quest.
That's the movies for me, just things may happen inbetween the smaller events.
