-.- which is depressing
I don't find that depressing. It's a simple fact of life that nothing stays the same. It's the impermanence that gives things meaning.
How does that give things meaning, that doesn’t make sense.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 88 - Official Discussion Thread

Very boring chapter, felt like a filler. Then again the beginning if the Boo saga with Gohan playing around as Great Saiyaman was also very fillerish and this is obviously a call back to that arc. But this manga is monthly as waiting for something to happen is way more arduous. Hopefully the next c...

Re: Dragon Ball Super as I would have preferred it to be written

Make SSG SS4 instead is what I would have wanted. No SSB, and Ultra Instinct could just be SS5, like a Golden SS4 design using SS4 as a “new base form” sort of like SSGSS.

Re: Do you think the anime should adopt 3D animation?

Not until they get better at it, Chainsaw Man does a good job mixing 2D and 3D animation. Gantz: O did a fantastic job with 3D animation but the artstyle for that was hyper realism. I think for more manga artstyles 2D is better and captures the spirit of the source material better but for stuff that...

I just watched the ending of GT (Japanese version) and it was one of the most depressing things I’ve ever seen

Having to see Pan as a grandma, with none of the original characters around to keep her company implying they’re all dead, was just fricken depressing. Then she sees Goku in the crowd and before she can say hi to him he disappears. And now with the Dragon Balls gone its like all the magic has been s...

Which character has the best voice in the Funimation dub?

I was watching the original Japanese sub with my mom on Crunchyroll and we were at the Majin Vegeta part and I remembered all the Youtube remixes using soundclips of Majin Vegeta’s english voice during this part for hype tracks. So I was thinking maybe I’m watching the wrong version maybe the dub is...

Re: Do you think Goku and Vegeta could've worked out as a couple in canon?

Gokuu would fluster Vegeta so much. I can just imagine Vegeta having a hard time asking for Gokuu to try his cooking. 😭😭😭 https://i.imgur.com/tIUYr9I.png "B- baka ! It's not like I'm making this omelet for you or anything!" https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E9NAL7mVcAA0VWB?format=jpg&name=o...

Re: Was Moro wasted potential? His introduction was really ominous.

Moro was initially built up as being this hellish-sorcerer who was to be feared by all; DB's(possible) journey into eldritch horror. Unfortunately, what we got descended back down into typical DB fashion by being just another strong guy who fought with his fists. Very much so-wasted potential. The ...

Re: Was Moro wasted potential? His introduction was really ominous.

Absolutely. Toyotaro should have stuck with the whole old goat wizard gimmick Moro initially and should have just gone all out with it. Like... full-blown psychedelic Dr Strange/John Constantine-esque cosmic horror shit. Or have a unique and quirky twist to his magic abilities, like Majin Boo. But ...

Re: Was Moro wasted potential? His introduction was really ominous.

No, I wouldn't say Moro's potential is wasted. As an arc instrument , Moro is effective, and he relies a lot on his cribbing from Piccolo Daimao to work in that sense and to intersect effectively with Goku's character arc in particular (and the OP later rightly notes his reliance on Piccolo - I don...

Re: Was Moro wasted potential? His introduction was really ominous.

I wish that Moro had more of a personality to him. I basically wasn't invested in him at all and that really helped to drag down the experience. I would have liked to understand him a bit more. Same. It’s hard to not notice the similarities he had to Demon King Piccolo and Cell though, he just didn...

Re: What is the General Consensus on the Moro Arc?

The monthly release schedule doesn’t suit Dragon Ball imo. Dragon Ball is like the perfect ADHD show and yet it takes a whole year to get through 2 battles at this pace, with no time for nuance or tension building.

Re: What is the General Consensus on the Moro Arc?

Yes. I mean people often praise Vegeta's character in DBZ and he also says edgy and cringe shit. I mean the whole point of Goku is that he is completely devoid of any edgy cringe angsty thoughts whatsoever, aside from having rageful outbursts when his friends are hurt. So super edgy angsty emo char...

Re: What is the General Consensus on the Moro Arc?

Terrible, terrible, generic, bland villain. You'd think Toriyama had learned how to make good, morally grey villains after Zamasu, turns out he hasn't. He couldn't even be bothered to explain Moro's origins, is there a more lazy and forgettable villain? Nope. Was Zamasu a good morally grey villain?...
