A small part of me wants to at least pre-order the fist steel book. Given Funimation's track record they've always done something different with each release, whether big or small.

Singles
UUC-Uncut Saiyan - Namek (canned)
Orange Bricks - Film "Remasters"/Widescreen, English dub w/ Japanese ...

They're pretty expensive.. $60 MSRP x 9 is $540. Even if you got em all half off, you're still paying $270, at that rate, you'd have still been better off buying the 30th set since you can sell the extras for a pretty penny.

Does anyone have the UK version and can confirm it is indeed region A/B? I know you can see it on the discs on https://dbz30.funimation.com/ but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just being lazy and used the same images from the US release.

This set definitely got more hate than it deserved IMO. It's not perfect but it's good enough, looks better than the Dragon Boxes since it has better colors and on a big TV, the Dragon Boxes are pretty ugly..

Are there any good ones for GT? I hate the big green brick Funimation released and would like to just repackage it into 2 standard size cases.

I'm pretty sure Funimation is just clearing old stock. This anomaly is not exclusively Dragon Ball related, there's tons of old Limited Edition sets marked down to $10-15 on Amazon, Rightstuf and even inside Dollar General, all these are from 2011-2015, several were out of print and expensive too ...
