Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Just ordered my first Movie Collection figure. I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I've always loved how detailed they were. Even had a brief email exchange about the line's creation with an ex-Irwin employee.

The Good: Mostly 2D animation Above average animation fluidity and complexity (Possibly) features more adventure than fighting The Bad: Novelty will probably wear off fast Expanded rehash of GT 's kidifying concept Not really feeling it currently, but will reserve judgement until I've seen it.

Re: Funi's Kai dub and accuracy
It certainly seems to imply Goku knew him personally. But I'm willing to give Funimation the benefit of the doubt by assuming he was trying to say, "With the Red Ribbon, huh? So is Gero after world domination too?"

Re: Information regarding Malaysian bootleg DVD?
Never seen it, I wonder if the back only lists 16:9 because it's the standard in the HD era. The level sets listed 16:9 on the cases even though the discs were 4:3. Slightly disappointed the back cover indicates these DVDs contained the Cantonese dub. If it contained the Malay dub it would be a lot...

Information regarding Malaysian bootleg DVD?
I'm looking for information regarding the contents of this Malaysian Dragon Ball Z bootleg DVD. While the back claims the footage is taken from one of the 16:9 releases, I want to be 100% sure. While rare, I do know from this very forum that Dragon Box bootlegs do exist. Here's the eBay listing, sin...

Unless you need the dub music, you already own the perfect release.Plague-Memories wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 11:54 am So like if I already have the English Dragon Boxes should I even bother with this?

Yeah, it's the 7th gen for me too. When Raging Blast released, it led to a lot of stagnation. The 8th gen was a huge improvement for me thanks to its variety.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 13; Still Unreleased
For the time being I urge everyone to email RTÉ [...] Kai is seeing a resurgence with the Polish dub that was recently produced and currently airing as well as new dubs in India, not to forget now is the ideal time to suggest new programming for September. We can still get this Canadian dub release...

Re: New Dragon Ball Z Blu-Rays From Crunchyroll Coming August 1st
How foolish I was for thinking Crunchyroll may actually enforce higher standards. Really makes me regret only getting the first three steelbooks, now that the aftermarket has priced me out of the rest.

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I understand criticisms against Funimation when they clearly demonstrated their ability to do gorgeous remasters of the show with the Level Sets. However, I have to agree that people are being hyperbolic with their complaints about the latest remaster. I don't know how anyone could watch the Orange ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I’m double dipping. Have the 30th anniversary and the packaging stinks so I’m getting the steelbooks too. The orange bricks and season sets were garbage and I never supported. These are watchable. I hated the 16x9 cropping. HATED. I support OAR. I’m all for widescreen if it is native. The set is wa...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I will also say, these steelbooks look really nice in person and the discs use a cool metallic ink. Now, it wouldn't make me feel less safe to not always use them as it would my 30th lol https://i.postimg.cc/nVq9YxCL/123605839-673541313304030-822489470284576109-n.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/KvFk0WMD/1...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
so Are these sets still good or no? i pre-ordered my copies I've been watching through the first season. While there have been better remasters in the past, these look perfectly acceptable. Some artificial grain was applied to the picture from when footage was first shown, and I think that masks so...

Re: 4:3 Steelbooks - Inconsistent Subtitles?
Pretty sure this is just standard for Funi, right? The Dragon Boxes did the same, didn't they? Been a while since I watched them, but I recall noticing the same thing on another Funi release at the very least. Romaji one episode, English the next. I've never noticed it on the old singles or the Ora...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I mean, it does stink that it's not an improvement but I am more than beyond happy that this is out to the general public and I hope at some point there is a regular style release that replaces the season sets. Plus now I have a way to replace my discs of at some point they get messed up. This will...

Re: If Toei ever announces they'll do a Blu-ray Dragon box
Now that the 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition remaster is available in Canada through the season steelbooks, I've decided they're good enough. They look way more presentable than the Orange Bricks or 2014 Blu-rays. With how long I've waited for a "cheap" way of owning the series in 4:3...

4:3 Steelbooks - Inconsistent Subtitles?
My first season of the Dragon Ball Z Blu-ray steelbooks (same remaster found on the 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition set) arrived a few days ago. While watching them in Japanese, I noticed that the subtitles for the intro and outro flip from English to Japanese from episode to episode. Is this j...
