Re: Kanzenshuu Wiki Has Launched!
How on earth did I miss this? I've waited so long for this project to release that it actually feels surreal to finally browse more than the few pages available before, even if it's not yet complete (not that you can ever truly complete a wiki, since there's always new and old stuff to document, but ...

One might wonder how Toriyama managed to romanize Capsule Corp. two different ways in the same panel. Maybe his assistant at the time (Matsuyama, I believe?) handled the background while he, Toriyama, handled the foreground ...

I'm hoping they expand upon the Broly movie to fit with Toriyama's original drafts.
There was a lot of content that got cut, Broly wouldn't have worked as a 3 hour movie but as a series? I think it'll work.
I expect the Broly arc will be nothing more than the movie cut up into 5 episode ...

Oh, hey, Moro adaptation's real. Neat. (With trailer music by Hans Zimmer, of all people. Huh.) Guess the rights dispute was at least partially sorted out.
Anyway, I'm more intrigued by the gallery on display at the event. If the subtitles weren't wrong, apparently there are original recording ...

Re: Seed of Might: Dragon Ball Z Color Correction trailer
As has been reiterated numerous times throughout this thread, SoM releases typically get smaller, re-encoded mini versions made by outsiders within, like, a week of release. If you wait just a little longer then a smaller release is sure to appear on the same site as the SoM release, so I don't see ...

I don't want to be the guy going "um, actually" here, but, like, we gotta be for real for a second here. Ignoring Taika Waititi for a second, Takao Koyama hasn't written anything in twenty years ...

It's barely worth a mention, but apparently a new "HD" upscale of the original Dragon Ball is up on Hulu . Don't get your hopes up--as mentioned, it's an upscale, and not even a good one.

Re: In order to continue DB's story in an authentic manner, Jump should create a Toriyama AI bot
Absolutely not. l would rather Toyotaro (or whoever) pump out the most atrocious story of all time if that's what it takes to avoid AI usage and maintain the human touch. AI is fundamentally anti-art, and even beyond that, literally doesn't have a brain to imagine with, meaning every one of its ...

Re: Vegeta calling Goku the number 1
I can't believe people are applying powerscaling logic to a character moment. Like, yeah, Ultimate Gohan and SS3 Gotenks were probably stronger than Goku (and I say "probably" because I don't want to get in a numbers battle), but that doesn't really matter because Vegeta, in this moment, is ...

I do recall kei17 mentioning something about a "pilot", or at least some Dragon Ball test footage which I think was used for the Japanese voice cast auditions (and after doing some searching, I found where he mentioned it: https://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=894247&hilit=pilot#p894247 ...

By the way, I'll put here in images the breakdown of Toriyama's words by an AI, because I assume there's lots of fans whose mother-tongue is not english and so they at least aren't fooled by your tactics ;)

Re: How would you feel about AI being used for deceased voice actors?
To answer the thread question: No, I don't think generative AI should be used to replace deceased voice actors. Just recast them. I don't even think it's a pertinent question at the moment: I've heard AI-generated voices and they're not good -- and unlike with real voice actors, a voice director can ...

Re: Was there a place to fit another arc between Granolah and Super Hero?
The Super manga timeline is already a bit of a conundrum when you factor in Trunks and Goten's ages and school years. To explain: Goten is a first year high schooler -- meaning he started school in April at age 15 (going off of the Japanese school system which is what Toriyama and Toyotaro would be ...

Re: AB vidéo has given up on continuing their Dragon Ball releases on Blu Ray
Damn it. At least we got the first 68 episodes from them before this happened. I can only hope that Toei or Funimation will eventually do a native HD scan of the original 16mm film for the series at this point. It's a real shame that the best release we have for the first series is an unfinished ...

Re: Series character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru says a Dragon Ball remake is possible
I remember the first time I watched Dragon Ball. It was specifically the first series, and I was watching it dubbed on some awful, now-defunct pirate site. I greatly enjoyed the first fifty episodes, and I still possess some fondness for the original Funimation dub of Dragon Ball despite its ...

Re: Was it a mistake to continue after the manga ended ?
This is a very simple question. If you like GT/Super/Daima, then it wasn't a mistake. If you don't, it was a mistake. No one will be able to come to an "objective" conclusion here. If we're only taking into account the artistic value and not the financial value, then there will be no clear answer ...

I think the green tint looks better. If that makes me the object of mockery by nostalgic people, so be it.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 20 - Official Discussion Thread
After weeks of putting it off, I finally decided to actually watch through all of Daima just in time for the finale, and what an average finale it was. The animation was great as per usual (that shot of the Kamehameha breaking through the magilite was particularly spectacular), and some of the gags ...
