Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 100 - Official Discussion Thread
As expected, the art was generally excellent. Otherwise the Chapter was pretty much as expected from the talk around it before its publication - fun in its way, but nothing wildly out of keeping with what we'd already seen in the movie; just a few tweaks - overall, as many have said, a perfectly &qu...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 100 - Official Discussion Thread
Anyhoo, the colour art within the Chapter seems set to look excellent from what I've seen of it.
Chapter Title seems to be "Violent Explosion! The Makankousappou!" (炸裂!魔貫光殺砲 Sakuretsu! Makankousappou!)

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 100 - Official Discussion Thread
It looks like there's a scene of Carmine escaping and regrouping at RRP HQ. Red Ribbon arc 4.0 incoming? It could be kind of interesting if it turned out that with Super Hero's conclusion, we're only actually around the halfway point of the arc. Super's manga-only arcs do tend to be longer, and Toy...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 100 - Official Discussion Thread
If all correct, that sounds...pretty bizarre. I'm not sure what weird fake-outs to bait the readership are meant to accomplish. The hype-generation (if that's what this is?) aspects of the franchise seem to cut across the actual storytelling of the manga something fierce at times - messing with read...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
It's surreal to finally have some official 2D artwork of these forms. Just as a small point here: Orange Piccolo, at least, does have official 2D artwork already - from Toriyama himself , no less (left hand image linked). His inclusion on the V-Jump cover here does look cool though - Toyotarou's do...

Re: Why Tenshinhan/Tien can, and should get more relevance
I guess in reading the OP, the main thing that springs to mind for me is that I can see clearly enough how it is that Tenshinhan "can" become "relevant", but I'm not really seeing what looks like an actual reason why Tenshinhan "should" get more relevance. This seems to...

They are definitely hiding something. Uchida already teased something unexpected will happen. Lets hope its something good and not Gohan missing and the fight will go on... Imagine. All the gags in this arc about Gohan's terrible eyesight, placed there in a breadcrumb trail leading up to him ...

Cute set of interstitial illustrations for Super Volume 22 - Beerus and co. watching Goku and Vegeta as the pair fight and fight and fight and fight without any visible progress (Beerus finishes his ice cream and gets bored quickly; Whis leaves and comes back with tea) - almost like it's checking in...

No official connection between Sand Land and Dragon World has been established, or can be established from present material by either statement or inference, to the best of my knowledge.

Re: What are your favourite logos for the series?
For the interested, it's worth noting in this vein that KBABZ did a full Manga Logo Catalogue once upon a time, which includes some pretty unique offerings, and is worth checking out. I am partial to the Shenlong Dragon Ball logo; it's a neat design which visually foregrounds a key aspect of what th...

Re: Just how "Extinct" are the Extinct Races?
The Granolah Arc of the Dragon Ball Super manga established that Namekians have always been scattered throughout the Universe in small enclaves on various planets; though it's unknown how many survive, it's not unlikely that several small societies (apart from the "main" one on New Namek) ...

Re: When do you think the Super anime is returning? Should I read the manga while waiting for the anime?
Anyway. Whether the material currently specific to the Dragon Ball Super Manga gets animated or not, I'd advocate reading it, as something that's enjoyable on its own merit. Even if you read it and it does get adapted into an Anime, there'd be things specific to that medium to enjoy anew (e.g., art ...

Re: Piccolo comment in DBS Manga doesn't make sense
It's also worth bearing in mind that at the time he says that, Piccolo has only seen Goku appear to be in Base Form while beating up an empowered Saganbo, and doesn't know any better than that (he just has a couple of question marks over Goku's performance, which have been tentatively answered as be...

Re: Why is Goku bored?
I quite appreciate Goku's boredom at the beginning, just as a counterpoint to the beginning of Dragon Ball proper. At the beginning of Dragon Ball, Goku is wild, free, and satisfied with his life because he's ignorant. He trains, hunts wild animals for food, and knows nothing of what's out there in ...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread
I actually found this on my spanish manga copy of the Namek arc. They had Nailccolo 5x stronger than Piccolo, which I firmly believed until I watched the original version and there's no multiplier given, it's more like "many times stronger". The same thing happened with Cyborg Tao, the sp...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread
So, following a recent discussion on Neoseeker that seems to validate the idea that the text of the booklet series commonly known as El Manga Legendario comes originally from Shueisha and has contributions from some of the people who worked on the Daizenshuu, rather than just being a whimsical third...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread
Wouldn't the effect be the same for everyone? I would suppose that this seems less likely on the face of it, for the quite straightforward reason that they're different people with significantly different strengths, sizes and weights, so it would consequently make better sense that they would respo...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread
So, soliciting some opinions: We know that removing weighted clothing gives a jump in BP, as the characters get lighter. Would this also apply to moving between differing levels of Gravity? That is, if a character was (say) in a Gravity Room that went from high gravity to normal gravity, would their...

Cute redraw of the Toriyama Cell Max promo illustration for the Chapter. An interesting decision to have Pan fly now for the Senzu Bean - I guess they wanted her to have a slightly bigger role there by having her contributing materially to the heroic effort as a result? It's a nice link back to her ...

Re: Who deserves and should to train under their GoD and Angels
Perhaps not so much a question of "deserving", but I feel Champa and Vados should probably do something about Kale. Seems both a risk and a waste having that much (self-)destructive power running around in their Universe without it being channelled in a more structured way.
