Re: Pointy Ears = Demon Realm Descendant
This got me wondering about Akkuman. His ears, if he has any at all, are hidden behind his... whatchamacallit. Onesie? Doesn't seem like there's any particularly big pointy ears in there. Akkuman does say he's from HELL, not the demon realm. So maybe he's not even a demon, but more like a... devil ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Huh. The characters page on the Sparking Zero website now lets you browse different sections. Like showing only Z characters, or only GT characters, or Super, or movies... or original Dragon Ball. Which only has kid Goku in it for now, but it being an entire separate section means there might be ...

Can't believe I didn't catch this sooner, but that should say March 8th of course.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
^ In Sparking Meteor I've currently got all the Buu forms equipped with an item that gradually restores their health, representing their regeneration. They could implement something like that.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
We've seen 139/164 characters so far, and I feel like it's getting easier to predict what the rest of the roster is gonna be:
-Remaining Boo arc characters from Sparking Meteor: Kaioshin + fused Kaioshin
-Remaining pre-Z characters from Sparking Meteor: kid Goku + great ape, Chichi, Namu, Ha-chan ...

Re: Funny moments in Dragon Ball
When the gang first gets attacked by Pilaf, Goku chases after Shuu's mech and finds it. It's empty, but Goku thinks it's a person/creature. He pokes it because it won't say anything, and knocks it over. Goku is confused, thinking it was SO pathetically weak that it died instantly.

I don't think Yamcha and Tenshinhan are all that likely to get story perspectives (unless they decide to include pre-Z story material) - I'm guessing it'll be Mr Satan and Freeza instead.

Re: Does Goku have bad stamina?
I recall several comments from Roshi during the 23rd tournament, noting how Goku wasn't even breathing heavily at all even after so much exertion and fighting at extremely high speeds. Which would suggest Goku has great stamina.

Dunno if anyone's pointed this out yet, but 82 out of 164 character slots have now been revealed - exactly half of them, in other words.

For what it's worth, the Japanese site doesn't specify Gogeta as being from Super, it's just "Gogeta".

^ When I get up in the morning, I sometimes do some "YATATATATA" air punches to 'shake myself awake', or something. It's stupid. But also funny.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
My ideal roster would be one that satisfyingly represents the entire original manga, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for pre-Z characters like Murasaki, kid Kuririn, Giran, Sergeant Metallic, assistant Black in his mech suit, the bear with sword, the pirate robot. Extremely unlikely, sadly, but in ...

Re: Why are the English dubisms far too ingrained into the fandom?
This. If you're talking to some random or casual acquaintance about Dragon Ball, pronouncing Saiyan correctly and , talking about Genki Dama and Kame Sennin is just going be needlessly confusing and pretentious.
My whole problem with the discrepancy between sub and dub is that using correct ...

Re: Why are the English dubisms far too ingrained into the fandom?
I think the main thing IS simply that the video games never stopped perpetuating the inaccurate names for characters and other things. It's why people still refer to Cell Games-era Gohan as "teen", for example. That's not a dubism, but a video game-exclusive term. I don't think many dub fans use ...

Came across something in this interview translation - it still says "Nappa [Chinese cabbage]", while I think it's been established that the name "nappa" actually came from leafy vegetables.

Re: Dragonball Z Legendary Super Warriors 20-year anniversary of the US launch
Just did another playthrough in celebration of the anniversary. It's not the most superb amazing game ever or anything, but it'll always have a special place in my heart because of how involved I was in its little community of players back in the day.

What's amazing to realize about Nozawa is that she didn't become Goku until the age of FIFTY. Her super-impressive tenure as Goku still counts for less than half her life! She had a whole entire life BEFORE her most iconic role.

Re: Iconic Voices in DB
Having started out with the dub, it took me a while to come around to the Japanese cast, but I got there in the end and now I adore them. I once tried to make a top 10 list of my favorite DB actors -- and ended up with a list of about 25 all vying for the number 1 spot. That's just how good they all ...
