Re: The Cell Arc Progression

The actual idea of the villain's changing from No.19 + 20 > No.17 + 18 + 16 > Cell is something that I actually don't mind. The part I don't like is how certain characters are dumbed down or there is some contrived caveat to allow these changes to happen, i.e., the execution isn't really that great.

“Within my head is a small mass. That’s what makes up my nucleus. As long as that mass isn’t destroyed, my body can still regenerate." 10 chapters earlier : (Cell's top half gets destroyed by Goku.) [Goku] "Oh yeah, you can regenerate..." [Cell] "Of course, just like Piccolo!"

Re: Do You Prefer Reading The Manga In Color Or BW?

For me, reading in color makes whatever is going on a little easier to understand. Especially with manga where everything is so cluttered or detailed.

However, Akira Toriyama is very good with balancing art with negative space. So I often default to B&W. Though, the color is a welcome edition.

I mean, I didn't "grow up" on it. But it was my gateway into the franchise.

Re: Thoughts on the DBS Super Hero Soundtrack?

It's alright, I guess. I liked the theme for the flashback montage, particularly the jingle when the opening title appears. Also the ambient noise when Gohan does the thing against the big bad. Other than that, nothing really memorable apart from the tracks that were handpicked for the trailers. Was...

Re: How do you Feel About the Pacing of each Show?

The pacing for the first episodes of DBZ is really good, imo. It definitely slows down in the latter half of the Namek saga. I love Dragon Ball, so it doesn't bother me. But for someone watching it for the first time, it's really going to kill the intrigue. I'm hearing a lot of hate for the Kai paci...

Re: Episodes you've seen the most

DBZ Episode 28. Goku's arrival is epic. And his dismantling of Nappa is also fun to watch.

DBZ Episode 35. In particular, the scene where Goku pleads Kuririn not to kill Vegeta. It gets me in the feels every time.

DBZ Episode 120. Awesome insert song.

Re: Dragon Ball Super now streaming on UK's "BBC iPlayer"

They only ever seem to go up to Episode 46. Here in Australia, "iView" is constantly cycling the same censored episodes. I guess the Future Trunks saga is too dark for child audiences. Oh well. I take that back completely. Episode 49 is currently the latest episode available. So Future Tr...

Really bad ranking (I have not seen GT): 1. Namek - Freeza 2. 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai 3. Saiyan Invasion 4. Majin Buu 5. Artificial Humans (Cell) 6. Piccolo Daimao Arc 7. Zamasu - Goku Black 8. 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai 9. Moro - Galactic Patrol 10. Beerus the Destroyer 11. Red Ribbon Army [Tao Pai-Pai ...

Like some, I'd also say 10. I doubt I would've been invested in a series like Dragon Ball before that age.

I really enjoyed the recap they did for the opening montage. The opening credits as well. I just felt that it had so much style.

What really works for Freeza, in my opinion, is Ryusei Nakao's and Chris Ayres' performance as the character.

Re: Best Art/Animation Style Going Forward

Definitely the Shintani style. Like the 2008 special, it seems like such a waste to only use it for a main production once.
