The days of arcs being given actual space and time to tell a complete story are long behind us now, as current-day Dragon Ball is all about the marketing and getting to the next big thing as quick as possible.
Anime-wise? Yeah. But Toyotaro does take time with his arcs. It doesn't hit the same, as ...

Re: Trunks should've been the hero of the Cell arc
Reading these posts, it seems to me the Zamasu arc has replaced the Buu arc as the arc the fandom is most divided on.
I think the Boo arc works better in the manga, where the pacing is faster and things don't drag on for so long. In my opinion, it remains the weakest arc of the original ...

Re: Experiences of the Mandela Effect with Dragon Ball
It is a well-known fact that many people in Brazil remember Goku’s transformation into Super Saiyajin 3 against Boo being cut off due to a news report about the events of September 11th. However, that never actually happened. The episode wasn't airing that day, and events didn't unfold at that ...

Re: Trunks should've been the hero of the Cell arc
It also kinda undid all of his successes in the Cell arc. He finally got rid of the evil in his timeline, and now it's all erased and he's forced to live in an alt version of it with an alt version of him, it' so ridiculous

Re: Trunks should've been the hero of the Cell arc
I don't think Trunks needed to be the main character to have a good arc. I really like his time with Vegeta, and the fact that he learns to trust himself as an actual hero/fighter while being in the present.
If anything, I wish he had never come back. Super ended up regressing his character, which I ...

Re: Your introduction to Dragon Ball
I watched it on Cartoon Network! It was Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters. Of course, I knew what Dragon Ball was before, but I was never really into anime up until that point. I gave it a try and really liked it. The world and the characters in particular. Good times.

I've never been a Funko guy by any means, but my best friend gave me this one as a birthday present this weekend and I loved it. The pose and the energy emanating from Vegeta's legs are truly faithful and amazing.

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
Personally, I think this could continue for years, yes. Toriyama has worked on many different things, and from what I know, the artwork he created for games, in particular, was among the very first things created during development. Of course, we have to acknowledge that his name has become a kind ...

Re: Other Toriyama-related games
When you consider that the game restarted development, I'm a little wary about confidently saying that we're actually looking at true, from-his-pen, Toriyama character designs here*.
(That's when it comes to the main party characters, anyway. Obviously old monsters will still be based on his ...

Other Toriyama-related games
Dragon Quest XII has just got its first gameplay trailer after many years. Apparently, they had to restart development at some point. But so far, I think it's looking really good, almost like an interactive illustration by Toriyama.
Speaking of which, Toriyama apparently worked on the designs for ...

One of Toriyama's real life friends from another country showed up at the very beginning of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, if I remember correctly.

Re: Would removing Neva's macguffin Super Saiyan 4 fix Daima for you?
This is honestly running away from the point:
Oh, yeah. I wasn't talking about Pan. I don't understand the comparison, honestly. They are both "annoying" by design, but that's about it. Two very different characters in different moments of the franchise.

Honestly, who cares if Vegeta is good or evil in the Artificial Human arc?
Multiple characters get a chance during that arc to get rid of him and decide not to follow through. Multiple characters go through extreme lengths to stop the villains, from merging with their other half, to building ...

Re: Would removing Neva's macguffin Super Saiyan 4 fix Daima for you?
Vegeta didn't become one of the good guys until he sacrificed himself against Buu, but up to that point he was by no means anyone's friend or on anyone's side.
Yes. His transformation from villain to good person was gradual. In the Android arc, he was still a horrible person who only cared about ...

Re: Is anyone else not a fan of the SS3 Vegeta design?
I liked the design. It reminds me of the concept art Toriyama drew for Super Saiyajin 3 Goku in the Boo saga (minus the super long hair). In fact, I like it more than Beast Gohan because of the lack of eyebrows.
The previous Super Saiyajin 3 Vegeta design never worked for me. He looks ugly with ...

Re: Would removing Neva's macguffin Super Saiyan 4 fix Daima for you?
Vegeta did remain competitive in GT.
Yes, and no. They did have the recap episode, yes. But for me it was too little too late. I don't like how Super Saiyajin 4 Vegeta was put in the story just because the writters wanted Gogeta to come back. But yes, I do like his scenes with Trunks, Goten and ...

I would categorize the responses to Kenji's posts as being pretty emblematic of the sort of 'feigned dispassion' you often see from men when discussing the depictions of girls and women in media. If a man isn't wearing his sexism on his shoulder he's pulling the "I'm sure there's a perfectly ...

Yeah... there is absolutely nothing wrong with how Toriyama treats his female characters, absolutely nothing.
Did I say that? Or did I literally say that people can and should interpret these things in whatever way they see fit?
