Re: How do you think they will react to Gohan and Piccolo's new transformations?

I'd just like to say, Orange Piccolo has brought joy in these uncertain times. Everyone I tell about Orange Piccolo is delighted. I guess because we all remember Piccolo fondly, even from 20 years ago, and the idea that he suddenly has this orange power-up is both a little funny and just really good...

Re: OG Z vs Kai - Subtitled Version

There are a FEW moments, largely because of the music used. The scene where Freeza impales Kuririn in Kai incorporates Freeza's new theme song to great effect, which really gives the scene a much more chilling feel than it had in Z. Tada Kogoeru Elegy? Dude, that song is amazing. I first heard it p...

I got a Master Roshi figpin! It's like the anime went right off the screen onto my bookcase. :D

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]

I just checked out episode 1 [83] myself (thanks so much for all the hard work on this, Milkman--have been waiting with bated breath for Buu after going through your well-edited Saiyan-Cell stuff!), and here's what I picked up on with a quick comparison to TFC 99/100 (Milkman might write up a list ...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]

Green tint is non existent in this release as it uses Dragon Box footage. I haven’t actually watched any of it yet so I'm curious if this release color corrected the Dragon Box footage at all. Wow, that's awesome! Thanks. Oh yeah, and it's great that this is 4:3 too without the cropping that Buu Ka...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]

Anybody know what the more notable artistic decisions are on this Buu recut? I always enjoy that changelog sort of thing, or highlights about the more notable problem solving in editing etc. I trust the judgment here though, since Recut was so excellently done. This is actually the only fan edit lik...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]

Kudos on finishing DB Kai, just saw the update to the post! DB Recut rules, and I'm looking forward to watching your version of Kai, especially Buu! Thanks for all the awesome work on this rad project. A question for anyone who knows, what censorship was included in the original Kai, and removed her...

Re: Deep Thoughts: The Fortuneteller Baba Saga

I just watched this arc for the first time recently, great stuff! My first time watching the original Dragon Ball. My goodness it rules.

And the soundtrack is insanely good for sure, Kikuchi's stuff is incredible.

Very cool info and insight for sure! They were really on fire in the 80s. As for current titles, I hope there's still plenty of eclectic and cool gems out there, sure is a sea to sift through.

Re: Do you prefer the wacky adventures of Dragon Ball and early GT, or the high speed action of Z and everything else?

I'm in the midst of my first Dragon Ball watch (did watch Z back in the day), but I'm loving Dragon Ball's vibe a whole lot. The comedy is so delightful and disarming, everything feels clever and inventive. The heartfelt moments are some of my fav too, the innocent genuine earnestness. How we're lea...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [WIP, Saiyan to Cell COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Z Recut [WIP]

Just wanted to say thanks! This is such a cool project, I just got back into DB, and Recut is impressing me so much! I watched the full original versions of the episodes into the 30s, those first two arcs still delighted me with the anime changes. I noticed as this site says the pace went from aroun...
