Re: Do you think Dragon Ball will be remembered in 60 years?
Consider the fact, Looney Tunes (1930) is almost 100 years old and still making new contents, with "The Day the Earth Blew Up" and upcoming "Coyote vs. Acme", Dragon Ball would definitely remembered for long, LONG, time.
You can't really compare Dragon Ball to Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies ...

Re: Do you think Dragon Ball will be remembered in 60 years?
Dragon Ball has left such a unmistakable footprint on the history of anime that it will never be forgotten, but in terms of how tomorrow's generation will perceive the series is almost impossible.

Re: What if Dragon Ball franchise didn't exist? How would it affect the pop culture and your life?
If Dragon Ball didn't exist, I feel that western fans would appreciate other 80s and 90s anime a lot more, and we wouldn't have any Dragon Ball call backs in western and Japanese animated series (which is pretty much anything that involves super human characters who move at light speed and/or carry ...

Re: Do you think Dragon Ball will be remembered in 60 years?
Well, fast forward 10 years after CC Tokyo has re-released all of DBS, I feel that Z/Kai, the upcoming DBS release, and Bandai video games will be what fans picture when someone says "Dragon Ball". Meanwhile OG Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super (2015) and Dragon Ball Daima material will ...

What 'other side of the coin' am I taking ?you are taking the other side of the coin and not making sense
At this point I've simplified my point to Toriyama and CC Tokyo ftw; though I just don't see how this is a two sided 'coin'.. ?

Yes, the other user

It's been a couple days, but here's the tl;dr version of what I had to say, which was simply Toriyama and CC Tokyo ftw
Otherwise, I don't mean to interrupt this engaging ...

There's also the fact that he looked surprised to see the form when Neva did unlock it. Goku's dialogue and the actual scene he transformed in make it very clear that although he knew something beyond 3 existed, he hadn't figured out what that was or how to get there.

Re: Which was the better sequel: GT, Super, or Daima ?
What Goku said was that he figured out there was something beyond Ssj3, but he hadn't figured out how to access it until Neva helped him.
Below I've included the only dialog that Goku shared about how he reached SSJ4, which was between him and Vegeta at the end of episode 20 of Daima (at around ...

Re: Which was the better sequel: GT, Super, or Daima ?
Yea, the word 'canon' doesn't even exist in Japanese.
Back when Super was beginning, Toriyama measured BoG and Res F as 'different timelines'. Otherwise Toriyama has made comments in the past about how Goku is portrayed in his manga compared to Toei's representation of him, and that he believes his ...

Re: The Ultimate Fate of DBS
Personally I just think it's going to be nice to see Iyoku's own independent production company as the new home for the Dragon Ball creative team rather than a century old billion dollar publishing corporation like 21st century Shueisha.
Maybe some people believe Shueisha should still be in charge ...

Proving my point that you didn't understand a word of what I was trying to say. Like I said, hopeless

Re: The Ultimate Fate of DBS
As an outsider (but also an administrator), I keep reading these posts between you two... and none of it makes sense. I literally can't parse at all why you're upset with each other or what the issue even is.
Consider that as you explore why you feel you're not being understood by the other party ...

It's not attacking, it's frustration at you failing to actually address my arguments. I keep re explaining the same things over and over, and somehow you're still understanding them wrong.

Re: The Ultimate Fate of DBS
You're just saying what I said, and pretending like it's something different. The point I was making is that Shueisha had to give permission for manga material to become animation, Iyoku couldn't just do it on a whim, they had to actually sort things out, and that took time.
That makes no sense ...

Re: The Ultimate Fate of DBS
No, that's exactly how it works, they could not use Moro if Shueisha didn't approve, no matter what you say. If they could have used Moro at anytime like you think, they would have done it immediately instead of taking up time with shows like Daima, which were CLEARLY made just to use the property ...

Re: The Ultimate Fate of DBS
If Moro, a character Iyoku had no access to, is being animated, it means Shueisha gave them permission to do it, and that's the end of that.
Dragon Ball Super is a manga written by Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotaro. I understand what you're trying to argue—you believe that because the Moro ...

Guy.. Do you need a source to know that 2 + 2 equals 4 too?
If they are adapting Moro, who is Shueisha character, then they got permission from Shueisha, objectively speaking. Are you being obtuse on purpose just to ragebait?

Re: The Ultimate Fate of DBS
A series set 200 years in the future (like Online) would've been a far more interesting direction to take the series in than the nostalgia loop of hell we've been stuck in this past decade.

Making a glorified compilation series instead of creating a new series from scratch—with a good character designer and chief animation supervisor—does not put Capsule Corp Tokyo into some realm of moral superiority over any other corporation involved in the creation of new Dragon Ball projects ...

None of them are good enough, nor have they ever been.
If by 'them' you mean all of Dragon Ball hasn't been good enough, then idk what idk what to tell you. It's not like any 21st century releases decades later were going to be any better than the original material.
