Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I'd be glad to as soon as it arrives. When I check the tracking number via FedEx, it looks like it's in limbo. Did this happen for the rest of you guys? Thursday , 10/31/2019 9:00 am Shipment information sent to FedEx That's all it shows me except it said the anticipated arrival date was yesterday ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Can anyone who has this set posts some screencaps from episode 34? I happen to have the level version of that episode on my pc and would like to compare them. I'd be glad to as soon as it arrives. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

That and a large part of the overall fanbase that thinks the DNR isn't that bad.

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

The problems with the hues in these images were that there weren't many different ones and I had to map 357° -> 14°, so I had to rotate the hues first. I noticed the same thing after the fact. Also, it seemed to work "well enough" for that single frame... but in the very next scene, Picco...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

The tools I'm using, if anyone's interested: https://github.com/crabshank/HLSL-Reshade-colour-remappers Did you code these tools? I tried playing around with around with histogram and histogram neuralnet pages. I just ask because I'm having a few issues with it and might want to help with a little ...

Question is... what's the XEROX LINE? Either way, I'm guessing that blackbox in the bottom right is supposed t...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Can't wait until the comparisons start rolling in. I live for screenshot comparisons of DB home releases. Me too, I have no interest in this release but you had better believe I'll pore over the comparison images for hours. Oh you can bet i'll be browsing through them as well, because the quality c...

A lot of those images are very blocky (I'm guessing from YouTube compression).

However, I don't have confidence that "smudgy" will be fixed somehow in the actual release.

Re: Backing Up Dragon Ball DVDs and Blu-rays 2.0

Very interesting info there, that's definitely good to have for that particular program though i don't personally use it. Just to be clear, most of that info applies to the DVD format... not strictly to DVDDecrypter. Other programs that allow you to access the VOB files properly can probably access...

...feel free to post some pics to detail your point. So, I'm using the Orange Brick set here, Season 01 Disc 5 for this example. Make certain DVDDecrypter is set to IFO mode (as seen here) https://i.imgur.com/YVl5Bto.png Notice PGC1 (Program Chain 1, I believe) is 2 hours and 49 minutes and 24 seco...

Re: Backing Up Dragon Ball DVDs and Blu-rays 2.0

Yes, pretty much all the ones that i have done in my collection including my FUNi Dragon Boxes all basically play identically to the discs themselves. MakeMKV+HandBrake for the initial copies of both the dub and subbed versions then going back in with MKVToolNix to split them by the individual epis...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

In general there are very few examples of a long running weekly anime series from the pre digital era that have been remastered for blu ray in Japan. Seasonal shows like gundam have been remastered but nothing of the hundreds of episodes variety. The only ones I can think of are yu yu hakusho and R...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Funimation deserve all the hate, come on now. They pushed out the Orange Bricks and have been shitting out awful home releases since; this was their chance to at least somewhat make up for that, and they cocked that up as well. I've said before and I'll say it again: they need their distribution ri...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

It seems like someone at Toei really likes green. A bit off topic for the thread, but is the green tint a constant? By this I mean, would we easily color correct it like in the DBox Color Correction thread? I don't want to play around with it scene by scene, but if it's a constant green, one filter...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Guess it's time to just start collecting the single dvds as at least those are proper 4:3. Luckily they are pretty cheap nowadays. All episodes weren't released in 4:3 with the singles. It's the "Rock the Dragon" set edits. They never finished the Vegeta vs Goku battle. That's when they r...

Ajay made a very good follow-up video! https://youtu.be/6QZDHVwpHZo He is spot on correct. If the set releases in November, there is plenty of time to have adjustments made. It seems like most people want the colors untouched and their version of DNR to be gone. If people make enough noise, there i...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Yeah but, based on what we've seen today, most images outside of episode 1 tend to not be as zoomed. Their blog post said they're trying to cut out as little as possible. Maybe something went wrong with episode 1 and they'll go back. Hopefully. Maybe. I'm willing to bet money the zooming issues are...
