Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I couldn't find the exact frame, but this should be close enough to compare to the Widescreen release. I've always hated the line definition on the previous bluray releases on these exact scenes . It looks like this might be a tad better. I'm with the rest of you though. Just give us those raw image...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

After reading the Kanzenshuu article, I’m going to likely hold out until Monday when it likely hits 3,000 and see if there’s any more information. Is there any new information on the set since the initial announcement? This thread has just ballooned - there's like 10 new pages of posts everytime I ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

What a waste of potential. I can't stand the smearing they do trying to clean up the image. Someone can post some Cell Games picks from the BluRays and the DBoxes. They completely blur the lines. It's horrible!

No order from me.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

If this didnt get the outcome they wanted to you think this will just dissapear like the dragob ball dtagon box and movie survey or the 4:3 vs 16x9 survey? Oh god i hope not, it would be a damn shame after all that hype and everything to just die with nothing to show for it I guess it wouldn't be t...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

"Produce," not "Product," 2003 Pete Wentz. Correcting peoples' grammar is a bit rude, man. Years ago these forums used to have strict rules on this topic, anyone else remember (an additional click reviewing the rules to get to the forums)? I'm guessing the Grand Poobah isn't as ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Though it hasn't been absolutely confirmed at this point that is what's being used for the set, right? Nothing has been confirmed at this point. Everything everyone is saying about what the set will be is coming from pure speculation (with the possible exception of someone talking to a FUNI rep... ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

All things considered, if this release does indeed use the same film prints and we have to deal with some darker detail being lost... Yeah that would be a bit of a shame but I don't think it would be a dealbreaker. I agree here... especially when I see those green sky pics from the Vegeta fight aga...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Have you guys noticed that several of the BluRay season sets of DBZ have been on sale lately. I'm showing the current price ($15.99 for the set I linked) is the lowest it's been in 5 years (same with Season 6). It's almost like they are trying to move stock before a new version comes out. Amazon has...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Whether it's Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Kai, Dragon Ball Kai (2014), Dragon Ball Super or etc, there's always something that the fans aren't pleased with so they'll go out of their way, anyway. Understandable -- but I think it's fans like us that have gotten "screw...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

If they were going to give us extra discs I'd rather them spread out the new remaster onto more discs and include all the different dubs and scores as options. Sometimes I think they don't put them on because they take up too much space on the disc, well at least for DVDs, I could be wrong though. ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

The problem is that because most people think like that, this release might not see the day. I was thinking about that. Wasn't this release supposed to be in conjunction with Toei Animation? That lead me to believe this stuff was going to be released in Japan as well. If that's true, I'm wondering ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

At least with Kai they made some degree of effort to place the frames for 16:9 broadcast to where they would look good even if not always, certainly compared to FUNi's own widescreen versions where they basically just set it to dead center crop all the time and didn't really put any thought into pr...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Just to compare to the FUNI Blurays-- https://i.imgur.com/TOxwIwP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vHFEfxl.png I do hope FUNI lays off of the color correction. They did do a good job with the level sets though. As someone else mentioned, those sets would have benefited from using a higher bitrate, but I'm as...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Just a rough estimation here. The current widescreen BluRay sets have a retail price of $44.98 (note, this is not a sale price... just the MSRP I guess). At 7 sets of those, you would be out $315 roughly. With the book and the figure and hopefully new restoration, I think that would push it to $500 ...

Re: Will you be getting 30th anniversary set?

If its in 4:3, (which seems likely), has great picture and audio quality and is priced reasonably I most likely will. Same here. I would prefer the original title cards, intros, credits, nep and whatnot. If FUNI wants their own version of these things (with English text on it) BluRays have the capa...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

What are the odds FUNi gets enough pre-orders to release this, then within a year from release, they do a "Standard" release of the series, maybe in season sets, without the collector's packaging and figurine? Seems pretty likely IMO I mean, that's the Shout! Factory method of releasing t...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Anyone got ideas for special features they might include? I'm assuming the Bardock and Trunks specials would fall into that, perhaps, but what else could they provide? Did the mini-movie with Vegeta's brother showing up ever get put into English? Also, what about the 2nd Bardock special (where he t...
