Funny review of Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins

My friend Peter Paltridge just put out a review of the infamous live-action DB movie from Hong Kong: http://www.platypuscomix.net/kidzone/monkeyboy.html And BTW, here's the discussion thread for the review on Peter's message board: http://www.toonzone.net/forums/threads/dragon-ball-the-magic-begins-...

Re: Dragon Ball - Live-Action

I have to say that I really like Runaways due to its realism.

Here's a few more:

Dragon Ball Z Fight in Real Life (trailer)

From the makers of the Saiyan Saga Trailer, we have two teasers for the Freeza Saga, as well as Goku with a GoPro.

Mr. Satan vs. Dan from Street Fighter

The epic battle of the losers!

Please excuse the use of the "H" word in the video's title. Mr. Satan refers to himself as Mr. Satan in the actual video, and that's all that counts to me.

Re: Masako Nowaza Non Dragon Ball Roles?

Here's a few lists.

Some highlights include Kitaro in the '60s and '70s Gegege no Kitaro anime series (and the more recent Hakaba Kitaro series), as well as dubbing Doug Funnie from Doug, Aughra from the Dark Crystal, Timon's Mom in the Lion King 1 1/2 and Merriweather from Sleeping Beauty.

Re: Opinion on Path to Power

This was the first DB-related thing I saw in its original Japanese form, thanks to the DVD when it came out ten years ago, so perhaps needless to say, I have a soft spot for this.

No.
I guess that decision is made for me, then. Haven't been able to buy a 3DS yet, definitely not gonna get an extra one for japanese games.
Ditto. The only game on there that really interests me anyway is the Go Go Ackman one.

Re: Kanzenban & Tankoubon

I know I'm necro-posting, but I think this thread might be the best place to ask the question of Kanzenban censorship. I've heard that the Kanzenban censored some stuff that was uncut in the original Jump serials and the tankobon releases, such as Bulma smoking. Could someone please give me a thorou...

Re: Color chapter guide

So, sorry for the necro post, but I found this thread through Hermes's Guide Guide, and I was just wondering if the VizBig editions had fewer colored chapters than the Kanzenban volumes or not? Perhaps this guide should be updated since all of the VizBig editions have been released IIRC.

Funimation survey

Don't know if this is the right sub-forum to post it in, or if anyone has already mentioned it, but it's pretty interesting regardless. I just found it through Funimation's Twitter account.

Funny video review of the Dragon Ball PSAs

Check 'em out. Don East (who I know from the Toon Zone forums) made a humorous two-part review of the Dragon Ball Traffic Safety and Fire Safety PSAs.

TV Tropes.com's Wild Mass Guessing entry on Dragon Ball

In case you haven't heard of it, TV Tropes is a wiki about tropes, or storytelling devices and conventions. Their Wild Mass Guessing entries are where users (or Tropers as they're called) come up with some theories (some are quite crazy, some not so much) about about fictional (an even non-fictional...

Sorry, Anonymous. I don't buy it. I don't like the idea of this Dragonball movie because it looks and sounds nothing like Dragonball to me except for some character names and the Dragon Balls themselves. To say it's unreasonable for me to not like this movie is unreasonable in itself. That's like s...

There's a site, too? Yes, I am well aware of that section of the site, and after glancing over it again, I feel it does tell me what I want, but I still want some opinions from you guys as to what CDs I should invest in. If you were to start with anything, I'd suggest the "Legend of Dragonworl...

Karin-sama's fur colorings

While we're on the subject on inconsistant Dragon Ball coloring schemes, I wonder what the heck is up with the color of Karin-sama's fur? In the TV series, it's white, in the group shot at the end of the manga, it's brown, and in Super DBZ (which I assume is based off of Kanzenban coloring schemes),...

A Newbie's guide to (Japanese) Dragon Ball CDs

I don't own any Dragon Ball-related CDs yet, but I've been interested in them for a while (despite my somewhat mixed feelings over the Japanese music), but I don't know where to start. What CDs are essential to any DB music collection? I'm interested in the Dragon Ball Best Korochan Pack and the Dra...

At http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Site-News-2007-TVDVD-Awards/8267 they've announced nominees for the fourth annual TV DVD Awards. FUNimation's Dragon Ball Z "Remastered" Season 1 box set is a nominee under "Best Foreign TV series". Guys, please don't get mad over this. Instead, se...
