I feel the need to rise from my grave (wise fwom yo gwave) to offer my thoughts on this. All in all, I thought it was neat. I really think that this "remastering" has just as many problems as the american widescreen DVDs, just not the same problems. But that doesn't really bother me. It di...

With the insane amount of (delightful) Dragonball crap in this thread, I'm wondering if anybody has this yet? http://www.hlj.com/product/SIT55002 I'd love to own this. I'd serve drinks to my friends on it. Also, while I'm on the topic, does anybody know what this actually does? http://www.hlj.com/pr...

Just a little something that a friend of mine offered me today! http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/FQGokou/Picture006-2.jpg They are all original (BS/STA) from 1989. Love these little figures! And the Broli figure is nice as well, although I've never actually been a big fan of those action ...

http://www.xmission.com/~daimao/yama-oni.jpg These are the guys that really sold me on "Yama." The "Enma/Enema" thing was just gravy. Enema and gravy really shouldn't be included in the same sentence. This will be my only pointless reply, rule-gestapo. Oh, and thank you for the ...

I think part of the rule Steve was following was names that have an origin based in another language use that language's common romanization. For example, there's also Yi Xing Long instead of Ii-Shinlon . Did we talk about anything like that in Podcast Episode #0052...? If not, we should have :P. A...

I'm amazed at how some people just don't get it. Me, I get it. I see where the anger is coming from. I see why some people want to rally for a better product. I can also see why some people are just fine with what they got. I know that the R2 DVDs are available to me if I want, and can afford them. ...

Probably because the Japanese "Enma" is Yama . As for the "sama", I have no idea... But you clearly hear the voices saying "Enma-Daio." It just strikes me odd that they would subtitle one foreign name for another. I have a feeling there's a more in depth explanation in...

Here's a non Pun related question for Mr. Simmons. Maybe its been addressed in the past, but why is Enma-Daio's name subbed as "Yama-Sama" whenever he's mentioned? Of course, every time I see it I'm reminded of him threatening Kami-Sama with his "Yemma Lock" in the old dub, so it...

There's nothing wrong with asking for a quality product for your money. I understand this, and I agree with it to a degree. But for most people, the set is "good enough." And the sales reflect this. I don't think that Funimation could get MANY of the people who bought the first set, let a...

I'm sorry for helping further flush the message board down the proverbial shitter. Or the site as a whole, I couldn't tell which was being referred to. Maybe the fans are lazy. Maybe they're irresponsible. Maybe they just want to see you have an anyeurism, so they're buying the sets just to spite yo...

Ok, so here's my deal... I went out and purchased the DVD set (25 bucks, from Target, because I work there.) and I've been watching it from the beginning. I'm 9 episodes into it at the moment, and I have to say that I got used to the widescreen quickly. The opening seemed off to me at first, probabl...

I'm pretty excited for this set, even with all of the pictures posted here. Maybe I've just seen the episodes so many times that I don't care, or maybe I just like the way stuff looks on a widescreen TV way too much. I had a similar issue with the remastered Transformers movie, recently. Except in t...

I know the difference between the three, I wouldn't just spout out "kanji!" without knowing what I'm talking about. Anyway, there's definately a TEN in there, but its not Tenkaichi, or Tenshinhan. Then again, now that I look at it, it might actually be Tenkaichi... just all jumbled up. It ...

Super DBZ question

This is for the US version, bee tee doubleyou. (Why drop the scratch on the import when my birthday is creeping around the corner...) What the hell does the "change my name" wish do, other than changing my name to Kanji? And if I'm using Goku, why doesn't the Kanji at least say SON GOKU in...

I already have a PSP, and I work at Target (and get a discount) so I picked up the game.

Its fun, and I like it. The story was written like a terrible fan-fiction, but it was still entertaining.

I still have to grab the Collector's Edition of Budokai 3.

I have a suggestion

Someone should remake that old "Particle Man" Dragonball Z music video from days gone by (I remember downloading it off of AOL's keyword ANIME section almost 7 years ago...) Because that would be awesome.

Satan isn't culturally understood in Japan. Over the years, it has come to mean someone of great power or strength, but in a sarcastic and mocking tone. For someone to call themself Satan, or as it was commonly used "the satan of..." would imply that they were pretty full of themselves. To...
