It's bad enough that Piccolo has to overcome Frost, but losing to a generic ass robot would be too much.

Goku being put out so early convinces me that the tournament isn't even going to finish.

Like I said in the episode 33 thread, Piccolo keeping his distance and using the Mankankosappo could be because of Frost's sleeping technique and nothing more. The NEP showed Piccolo easily dodging Frost's attacks and the blows that did land appeared to have done nothing more than knock him backward...
