I personally really want a PS2-ish adventure game of DB, since I think it would really work well.

If you want this to work as a live action film, you're probably going to have to re-write whatever saga you are adapting completely. You can be uber-faithful, but in the end you're just going to have your heart broken when you find out the movie can't be three hours and has to be one and a half. Hol...

Mike, based on what you know, should I try my damndest to get the Dragon Boxes (near impossible) or just settle for the FUNi remastered sets? You're going to be a poor impoverished individual if you go after those Dragon Boxes. I know you're asking Mike, but if you are 16 and lacking a credit card....

I had never given this game much thought, but after listening to the podcast, I'm sold. I'm importing it first chance I get. But I'm pretty much 100% illiterate in Japanese. I know you guys can't read it either, and since it's a fighting game, I doubt you need to know it. But before I drop 50 bucks ...

SSj Kaboom wrote:It was actually a fan poll, and the folks who visited the website apparently voted Mr. Chan as their favorite to play Vegeta.
This is why fans shouldn't make casting decisions.

I think Hebert started out as a DJ/voice for radio ads, and that's how he landed his gig at FUNimation. I don't think he does that anymore, but I could be wrong.

It's always fun to talk to actors, voice actors in particular, to learn about their craft. Lots of voice actors do stage work as well, so it's interesting to see how they differentiate the two and approach the roles differently.

As I don't know Chris Sabat as a person and what he does in his freetime outside of his work on anime that FUNi distributes isn't really of any interest to me (as well as a lot of other people) when I say "I don't like Sabat" it's supposed to be pretty obvious that I'm talking about him a...

I met Chris Sabat in Dallas at a comic book shop one time, and he was a really really awesome guy who was more than willing to talk shop with me (and hearing his Vegeta voice come out of that small face of his was a trip to say the least). I could tell he genuinely loves the fans, and really wants t...

Awesome find! I read the Dallas Observer all the time, making this even more fun. I remember reading that story in the Dallas Morning News about a dad comparing the DB comics to softcore porno, it was this whole story about how DB is actually an anime filled with violence and nudity and parents shou...

Anyone who said LOTR was impossible to adapt was a moron. It's such a straightforward story. A movie adaptation that really proved its critics wrong was when David Cronenberg directed an adaptation of William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch , which if you read, you wonder how in the heck it would be possi...

Great show, I loved the discussion on FUNimation's bizarre decisions regarding Dragon Ball. Something that drives me nuts about FUNimation's DVDs is that many of the ones I've bought have been damaged. I bought the Dragon Ball movie box, and the 10 anniversary movie DVD had a big huge dent in it, ma...

Wow this is laughable. Like kids give a crap about the deeper meanings inherent in a show. The One Piece review was pretty funny. Check out the kids' reviews for it. One kid titled his "Horrible and I want to cry..." and he says that his dad is helping him write the review (forming an opin...

Probably the best "what if" I've seen in a DB game is in Sparking! NEO when it has the bit where Raditz loses his memory and forms a relationship with Gohan and Goku. I want to see more stuff like that!

If it had to be live action (and not CG) I'd want to see it done in a similar style to A Scanner Darkly (or whatever it's called). That process is known as rotoscope. It's when the filmmakers shoot the scenes with real actors, then paint over the frames, giving it the look of an animated painting. ...

I'm sorry, but Dragon Ball was never meant to be done in live action. So much of it's greatness comes from the whimsical art style of Akira Toriyama (which is why hair is important, since it's integral to the look of the characters we know and love), and this art style will surely be lost in transla...
