- Topic: How easy or difficult is it to read Dragon Ball in Japanese?

I've (so far) studied Japanese in college for two years. I know the entire story of Dragonball so it's not that hard to look at the pictures and remember what's going on. As for actual reading, so far it's pretty difficult to just pick it up and go simply because my vocabulary isn't nearly good eno...

I've really enjoyed the Saiyuki series so far, and it's going to be coming out for a while with the new Saiyuki Burial OVA coming out next month. It's a really awesome show and it's very character driven. It's different from a lot of the crap that's out there right now, in a good way. I recommend th...

Sounds like an awesome project, and something I'd be interested in doing myself with my Dragon Boxes if I had the time to invest in something this big. What are you going to do about the previews though? FUNi's release doesn't have them, so are you just going to cut them out of this custom release? ...

The thing is, besides a couple of words, I don't understand Japanese (yet?). So unless I plan to learn Japanese in my own free time (wich I think would take very long) or I have to spend a lot of money on the Dragon Box's DVD's. Wich are 30 euro's a volume wich is still quit expensive. In general, ...

I watched episode 184 of Z the other day for the first time in a few years, and the scene leading into the Super Saiyan 2 transformation where Gohan is shocked that Cell finished off No. 16 and the bird is superimposed over the his face really got me going. The insert song really helps the emotion o...

Haha, my friend who owns them can translate, he's just lazy. :P In the mean time, I wonder if I can engineer a way to use the subs from the season 1 box since the translations are pretty much perfect (?). It's probably more trouble than it's worth since even after you rip the season 1 subtitles, th...

So...what is the correct translation for this line? I realize that there are many interpretations, but in the context of the style used for rest of the subtitles, which one fits most accurately? Is it able to be determined, even for Japanese speakers? Steve's is probably the best interpretation. Th...

I went ahead and checked this scene on my R2s and here's my intepretation of it... I don't have the Season 1 or UUE version of FUNi's release so I can't really check it against Steve's, but from what you say Steve's just deviated from the literal translation a little. I wouldn't say his is wrong. Bu...
