Re: Why can heart virus, poision and diseases still kill Goku?

You must know that it's just a matter of the degree of plausibility that is needed for the taste of a specific series or genre. If you go that far and cannot accept any illogical actions taken by characters (that you're able to fathom), you should just give up reading/watching shonen series focused...

Re: Why can heart virus, poision and diseases still kill Goku?

Then blow up the fucking entire earth by shooting a blast from a billion miles away and you'll win. For what exactly reasons do only diseases and poison bother you? Is it any different than blowing up the earth or holding your enemy and let Ackman shoot the beam? It isn't different. All villains pa...

Re: Why can heart virus, poision and diseases still kill Goku?

And I've already said, if the characters were smart they would use poison all the time. Yeah, it's such an easy way that you only need to know what exactly the chemical ingredients that can hurt unkown aliens that you don't even know their bodily structures, and how you bring the poison into contac...

Re: Why can heart virus, poision and diseases still kill Goku?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Plan to Eradicate the (Super) Saiyans at this point, in which Dr. Raichi tried to kill the Z warriors with poisonous gas. Anyway, this disease thing always bothered me, but now I realize that Dragonball is only logical if all the characters are deeply stupid. ...

Re: Japanese Kai underrated?

Only the pre-censored version of episode 96 had the Yamamoto score. It will forever remain a secret along with Joji Yanami's narration in the recap. No offense, but how do you know that this version of the episode even EXISTS in the first place? I directly asked one of the staff members about it an...

Re: General Yamamoto Rip off thread

Does anyone here know if Yamamoto plagiarized from something with this soundtrack too? It's one of my favourite pieces, it would be too bad if he stole it as well. DBZ Super Gokuden: Kakusei-Hen: Freeza Battle Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout OST - Freeza Theme I'ts an abvious homage to Dies Irae by Moza...

Re: What would you want in A Kai of the original Dragon Ball

I don't want that happen in the first place because the filler in the original series works fine enough and Kai-fying would mean no Kikuchi score, which is definitely, absolutely no deal to me. Just HD-remastering the footage and producing an English redub would suffice for most of the demands here....

Re: Will Brexit affect DB (Anime) releases in UK/US?

I don't think it will directly affect the franchise marketing considering that now they have no relationship with AB Groupe. They just keep importing the products from the US and Australia. Brexit DID affect my wallet, though. Japanese yen has become much more expensive and now I'm buying a lo...

Re: GT Pan shouldn't be getting as much hate as she does.

Now that you mention it, isn't Pan generally more liked in the Japanese fandom? Game developers tend often to give her the spotlight often too (for example she's a main character in Dragon Ball Fusions alongside your avatar) I don't know much Japanese, but perhaps someone could tell. She's generall...

Did the buu arc have anything new?
No, it didn't. In the Buu arc, they gave up digital retracing and chose to just blur or frame-skip the flashing shots. They also added digital glow effects to some of such shots, but they never added any newly hand-drawn animation.

Re: Things the Dubs did better.

Yeah, I too have to respectfully disagree as well. Amazing Japanese performances aside, the music doesn't do it for me at all. I love Kikuchi's music but I personally believe he missed the mark the end. He did nothing about the music placement when it comes to the TV series. He just composed the mu...

Re: Recent discoveries concerning the Big Green dub

A lot of the AB-based dubs in Europe stopped at DBZ movie 9 for some reason, so it's not surprising if they didn't dub DBZ movies 10-13. I wonder why they did the GT special, though.

Re: Best Technology For Dragonbox And Level Sets?

Sorry for necro posting, but I managed to find my perfect setup. A few days ago I bought a CRT with hardly any use which means it still has incredible color and sharpness. After hooking up the PS3 via component and tinkering with the picture settings I managed to get pretty good deep, bright color ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

I really doubt the info about the airing in Korea, too. They once released their own English dub of the first few episodes of DBZ on VHS, but it was solely for an educational purpose. From what I know, there are some strict laws in South Korea regarding foreign TV contents, so they rarely air foreig...

Re: Dragon Ball fans and the prejudice against Digital Anima

The problem with DB's digital animation is that Toei doesn't use appropriate filters and effects that can add atmospheres to footage. Analog cel animation has "details" then regarded as noise which arise through film shooting processes, such as film grain, frame jitter, uneven colors, cel shadows, d...

Re: Could GT look this good on Blu Ray?

There is almost 0% possibility of FUNi transferring GT in HD themselves because Toei have never provided foreign licensees with film masters when it comes to GT. At this point, upscaling their SD digital videotape footage is the sole way for them to release it in HD.

Re: Trunks hair color?!!!

Am I the only one who doesn't really care color scheme consistency? As seen in many color pages and covers in the original manga, Toriyama has a tendency to freely change color schemes according to the balance in each panel/page, which I think is part of the charm of his art. I like the bluish hair ...

Re: Japanese Kai underrated?

Thanks to the Yamamoto Revival project, the English dub has more episodes in Yamamoto format than Japan...then again, the score for the last couple episodes is pure guesswork... Interestingly enough, we learned from Kei17 that, apparently, official Yamamoto song selections were made for those last ...
