Re: Which one's first?

One example being Asuka from Evangelion. They say she is Souryu (sp?) Asuka Langley, but we deduce (sp?) Asuka is her first name, so, is she Asuka Langley Souryu? But that is a German name, so, should they use the name-surname way? Her parents apparently gave her both a German and a Japanese last n...

You realize you can sign up in English , right? (Just look for a link on the main page that has "in English" in big letters, then you can proceed as normal.) 8) My concern isn't reading it. :P That wasn't my problem at all; my Japanese is fine. And actually, the registration page itself d...

.... it's really not "ry-yoo" OR "ree-yoo".. Ree-yoo is closer, but it's just Ryu. Pretend it's one syllable and stop trying to separate the r and the yu. :P It's a bit hard to say at first if you aren't Japanese, but you can do it. Or maybe just try saying "ree-yoo" a ...

Well, setting up an Amazon.co.jp account basically goes the same as setting up an Amazon.com account, so uh... Yeah. If you can't read Japanese and thus can't figure it out, maybe you should pull up the Amazon.com registration screen as a reference, and perhaps use BabelFish to help guide you throu...

That Buu toy.. is way too cute. *_*

Does anyone know how to set up an Amazon.co.jp account? I tried to use my Amazon.com info and it wouldn't let me.. which.. means I guess I can't use my gift certificates in co.jp. Suck.

Anyway, yes Suzukaze played the "Otokoyaku"(male part) roles. I personally think Mayumi Tanaka(Kuririn) and Masako Nozawa would be great in a production too.^^ Go here for some great info: http://shoujo.tripod.com/takara.html If anyone's interested, this is a good site as well: http://tak...

Haha geez. >_> I don't mind dubs but I don't know how long I'd last living with someone that absolutely preferred them. :lol: Anyway, I also think that the differing views on the genders playing opposite roles is also a cultural thing. It's been around in Japanese society for a long time. I agree ab...

Only other DBZ site I have bookmarked is that MyFavoriteGames one. It had a lot of good information charts and stuff, which was what I was trying to find at the time I searched and found it. *shrug*

Wow. Very interesting, and tempting to buy... o.o!

Um, DBW, shouldn't you be calling him "Kikuchi-sama"? Calling someone by their first name and adding -sama is reaaaally odd and doesn't add the same sort of respect at all. XD;

Actually, DBW, I've seen similar things with other shows. And no, it does NOT seem normal to me. I don't expect to hear the same voice out of an older/younger version of a character. I just don't. And to hear that is just wrong and lazy IMO. But Masako Nozawa doesn't sound exactly the same when she...

The Japanese actors are good but I don't like the fact that Goku, Gohan, Goten and Bardock all have the same voice which doesn't change, even once they've become adults. Other than that I don't really have something bad to say about the Japanese voices. o_o Um, do you mean the actor doesn't change ...

But I doubt that asking to be immortal also makes you invulnerable. Although, one could wonder if you'd ask the dragon. "I want to be invulnerable AND immortal" if it would count as one or two wishes? XD Couldn't you just wish it so that you were immune to any and all causes of death? ^_^...

YES, thank you Zackarotto! That is exactly what I was saying. =/ I don't think gaiden would have the same sort of dictionary definition as "supplement" would, either (especially the food part! gaiden isn't the exact Japanese version of supplement at all! XD). English has tons of words for ...

One of my favorites (most frustrating) was in Rurouni Kenshin, I'm thinking. Half a page or so (plenty of text) untouched, with "IF YOU KNOW JAPANESE YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS" written underneath. What the fuck? If I knew Japanese, wouldn't I be reading raws? It makes me want to hurt somebody....

Well um yeah. The whole introduction of fusion was that going beyond SSJ3 was going to be a bit much, and they needed a new way to get stronger characters. This is why SSJ4 is... kinda out of place. O_o But it's not even made by Toriyama so I wouldn't worry too much about it being a real form of sup...

There is no word that uses a C that couldn't use a K or an S instead. Kheater? Yeah, I kinda think the "ch" words benefit from the letter c. @_@; Yeah, they can. Japanese keyboards are basically the same as our keyboards, so everything is typed in using the roman alphabet. In other words,...
