How about we start over from where the original canon manga ended? I mean, if Toriyama were to work on the series himself out of choice, I'm sure it would turn out much better than the rushed DBGT. It would bring a closure to the story not previously achieved (admit it, the ending to DBZ was stupid ...

With the canon series, I was always disappointed with the lack of creativity in the series past the Freeza arc. What I felt when I watched or read the series pre Cell arc, it was total and pure randomness, with a constant sense of adventure, giving you the sense that you never knew what Toriyama ...

While that may be the case, there were still plenty of dub watchers who were new to the series and admitted it.

Granted... and I wasn't disputing that.

I was speaking more based on my own personal experiences from way back when. Onikage would know what I'm talking about... and he himself started ...

Erm, I think you mean Sean Schemmel.

My apologies, I'm very bad with names. Either way, that's the one I'm used to, so that's the voice that always comes to mind for Goku.

 It's no problem, I love the Japanese voice actors but I have a rough time remembering their names aswell.

The ...

I first got into it around Season 3, so it's actually very weird for me to go back and watch the first two seasons. Rob Schemmel's Goku is still essentially the vocal standard for me.

If the farmer's strength were only 5, he's a pretty able farmer, considering that Goku's strength at the beginning of Dragon Ball (according to Daizenshuu #5 I believe) was 10, and he could pick up Bulma's vehicle pretty easily, I believe.

I was always under the impression that after the Freeza ...

Edit: Most of these are VIZ translated. The only ones I have changed were those which happen to be either incorrect or mistranslated by VIZ.

Volume 17

Farmer - "Power level...only 5.”

Piccolo - "Power 322."

Son Goku - "Powers 322 and 334! One has Kakarrot's power...exactly.”

Son Gohan ...

That's because DBZ's intentional direction was pretty obvious with the tone of the beginning arcs.

The most disappointing thing for me for Dragon Ball is a tie: the complete shift in focus of the cast of the original Dragon Ball manga to the cast of Dragon Ball Z. I mean, Chaotzu, Tien, Yamcha ...
