Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

So it seems like this is effectively cancelled, that's a shame but glad I didn't start buying it. What's the best way to own the manga in English with the least (preferably none at all) censoring and no stupid translations (like 'Hercule') to roll my eyes at? The Full Color Edition would have been ...

If I'm not mistaken, the Spanish edition is the same size as the Japanese one, right (i.e. tankoubon-sized)? Only the Viz edition got bumped up to Shonen Jump-size, if I have it right.

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

Haven't read any updates from Viz. Well, if you know Spanish then you can order it from Amazon.es, as they've completed their release, iirc. Either that or wait until 2040 and we might get it all in English. I've had time to learn Japanese, buy the original version and nearly finish reading it in t...

Re: General Website Goofs/Errors

In the main Manga Guide page , it says the Full Color release has 20 volumes. Since the Boyhood and Piccolo Daimao arcs have since been published, however, it should be 32 volumes instead. Also, in the Full Color Comics manga guide page , in the Saiyan arc section, it reads: The first volume contain...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

If they didn't announce it today, then it's pretty much officially dead at this point. They've had more than enough time to deliberate. If they didn't announce it this year, then they're not going to do it. It's not dead yet, I don't think. I think Shueisha are probably just dragging their feet on ...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

The wait is most likely down to Shueisha dragging their feet on the licensing. Viz have to license each arc of Full Colour separately, meaning they almost certainly have to re-negotiate everything each time. I mean... if that's the case, then they could have just licensed more than one at the same ...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

The reason for those high prices in customs here in Portugal isn't the customs themselves (our IVA only goes up to 23%) but the handling fee by the post offices, who steal 12€ each time they fill a form to release stuff from customs (using the documents WE have to give them, and they are extremely ...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

I read Brexit may not happen but I don't know how accurate that is. Oh, it's pretty much going to happen. The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, said himself that the process is now irreversible (I'm assuming that they want to make some sort of example out of the U.K.). The ...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

I have bought Volumes 4&5 of the Freeza arc from a UK online seller. Gotta enjoy UK's prices before customs start destroying our wallets due to Brexit. I know, right? I was about to hold off on buying the entire Shokugeki no Souma collection, but after I remembered this, I quickly bought all of...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

Personally I don't mind because A) The colouring is amazing, and B) It's the only release I know of of the manga at the original Shonen Jump dimensions. Also, I get why some people are holding off on buying the things until we're sure to get a complete release... but if more people think like that ...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

I kinda gave up and started reading the Japanese edition. Even if they do announce more, at the pace they're going, we won't be finished until 2025. Where do you get the Japanese editions? From CD Japan . Seems like there are 5 volumes missing right now, but you can always use proxy shipping, or al...

Re: What was happening in Dragon Ball on your birth week?

So, manga-wise, the last chapter before I was born was number 167, just one day before I was born. It's the one detailing the preliminaries at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai. Anime-wise, episode 105 was the last one before I was born, where they first introduced Yajirobe. Meaning, I was born before eve...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

Freeza arc has 5 volumes and Saiyan arc has 3. Cell arc has 6 volumes. The gorgeous quality of this release means it mustn't be cheap for them and Viz is also known for being slow. When you look to the full picture, the lack of news is not strange. Hmm... maybe. I would say 6 months are still more ...

Except that, unlike those two times, there was an announcement at Anime Expo. That didn't happen this time. The last volume of Freeza arc was released this year though. Following their pattern the announcement of Cell arc would only be made next year. If next year they don't announce anything, then...

Re: Request: Anyone have 2nd edition or later of Full Color Boyhood Arc volumes 6-8?

I just checked the digital edition and the artwork is as crisp as ever, meaning it's not a problem with the source. All that's left is to know whether this has been fixed in more recent editions:
