Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]
Well I think it's also an issue of wanting to give viewers an option to enjoy a good English dub with the original Kikuchi score. There isn't really a completely great English dub experience if you only have the Yamamoto and Sumitomo scores (though I do really like the Yamamoto score for quite a fe...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]
As for DBZ Recut… It’s something I’d still like to do, but the way in which I want to do it, if I want to do it right , may not be something I have the time or energy for anymore. If I went about it in the same way that I went about editing DB Recut, then it actually wouldn’t be too difficult. Howe...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]
Masterful work as always. Eagerly awaiting the definitive version of Dragon Ball Recut with the color-corrected AB Groupe Blu-Ray discs! I gave Kai Recut a look, and despite being, as expected, an extremely competent edit... Kai sadly just doesn't do it for me  There's barely any hint of the or...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [WIP, Saiyan to Cell COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Z Recut [WIP]
Great to hear from you, IAmTheMilkMan, and good to hear that Kai is close to completion! Hopefully Z will be a lot faster and simpler, since you only have the one source and already possess a sort of "blueprint" in Kai as to which scenes to preserve to make a perfect "manga edition&qu...

Re: Episode #0488 (18 April 2021)
I think if there's one thing that gets exaggerated in regards to Dragon Ball in Portugal are the joke factor in the dub. Jokes which were sparse, even though one might get a different idea by finding them all neatly compiled online. The jokes were never part of Dragon Ball's huge success or appeal....

Re: Episode #0488 (18 April 2021)
Huh. That was different. Not in a bad way. In a relatable way, actually. Fellow European with a background in language here. All the commentary about translation was on point. How beginners think they know more than they actually do, how you want to convey not just the words but more importa...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [WIP, Saiyan to Cell COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Z Recut [WIP]
Any chance you'll do a version with the upscaled Dragon Ball release while there's no Blu Ray yet? From what I've seen, it's not a very good upscale, so you would probably lose more than you'd gain. Ajay might be able to tell you more about why exactly it isn't very good. I'm also not saying this j...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [WIP, Saiyan to Cell COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Z Recut [WIP]
Not rude at all; I know a lot of people are more interested in Z than Kai. I briefly started work on it a while back, but haven't touched it since. Initially that was due to exhaustion, but now the biggest reason I haven't started working on it again is because I want to wait for full properly colo...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [WIP, Saiyan to Cell COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Z Recut [WIP]
I only found out about this when searching through a prominent website for a release of the series that included the original broadcast audio, and I gotta say, this recut is everything I never even knew I needed. Most other fan edits are very amateurish, but yours is just beyond professional level. ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread
Here's a question I've had for quite awhile does anyone know how much involvement Toriyama actually has with this game or to what extent ? I know the Dragon Ball Room is heavily involved with this game and Akio Iyoku is Toriyama's right hand man but I wonder if they'll be more original stuff aside ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread
In my opinion, one of the biggest hurdles to overcome with early DB would be the lack of combat, since the first several arcs are comedy adventure stuff rather than action They all have action though. DB Origins already showed how to handle the first arcs. Then at the end you could finish it with Y...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread
Pre Z definitely should have been included but DBS can stay away. Why? Super has a lot of great stuff they can adapt into the game if they wanted to, on top of being the stuff that isn't actually overused in videos games. I mean, what? They've used it in Xenoverse, FighterZ, & Heroes. Not a lot...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread
Still disappointed how this game is focuses on the Saiyan Arc and beyond, when you have Super and Pre- Saiyan content needing attention. I'm one of the people that's most excited for this game and even I'm disappointed that this isn't the case. I know that Z is the name that sells, but they really ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Manga UK Home Release Thread
Just to confirm: there's no green tint (or any other major issue) in these releases, right? And by the way, do we still get all of the correct terms we used to have on the subtitles before Steve was forced to use the Funi spellings in the Broly movie (e.g. "Freeza" instead of "Frieza&...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion
I also have zero hope* of them announcing something today. I just saw this fantastic thread on Twitter by Deb Aoki and she just said that, unlike in the past, most modern manga contracts demand that the licensee publish the entire series from beginning to end, no matter how unprofitable it ends up b...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion
Still, the guys who did the Viz translation are/were pros, so assuming you know better than those guys is... Well... At the very least, while it's definitely perfectly valid to question the decision, I wouldn't call it bad/wrong without being pretty damn sure . And given translation is what these g...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion
Hercule is worth noting as censorship, but Djinn-Boo is a correct localisation of Majin Boo's name. Some people pass around nonsense about Majin meaning "Demon man" and Djinn meaning "Genie" and thus the two are vastly different and Viz were dumb, but in actual fact, the way the...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion
The art just looks so good at that size, it's like an art book with a story! Wholeheartedly agree, hence me being so distraught at its premature cancellation. I mean, the Japanese edition is fine and all... but at tankoubon size, it's just not the same. Viz effectively just ruined my standards for ...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion
I like the Full Colours so much I'm happy to have them even incomplete, they look THAT good! They're also, as far as I'm aware, the ONLY way to buy the manga in the original Shonen Jump size outside of the Digest Editions, which you'd think would be a bigger deal around here! When I was further bac...
