As a writer, you want me to relate to your character, right?
You want to pass on to me the message that your character is successful, strong and that he inspires others to be just like him.
You want to go even further and pass on to me the message that said character's success comes from ...

Re: Do you think Dragon Ball will be remembered in 60 years?
A franchise as big as Dragonball will obvious be remembered even after it turns 100. Look at the comics that turn 100 around these times - they include Nancy, Little Orphan Annie and POPEYE. Sure neither of them are in their prime, but they're definitely remembered and will very likely continue to ...

Re: History of Dragon Ball in Scandinavia and the Nordics
Cover design clearly based off the original Japanese releases, volume titles matching the Japanese much closer than the old release, seemingly still using the same character names, and if the description on here is true they still have the same translator as the old version which indicates it might ...

Yeah, if there's one thing the late 80s/early 90s American Dragonball fandom was known for, it was accurate and full translations of the series in its entirety.

Dragonball ended in 1995. There's really no need to treat all these endless modern attempts to milk it even further as more than just that.

Re: Has Dragon Ball Gotten too Big for its Own Good ?
Star Wars and (Dragonball) are good examples of major franchises that peaked and started slowing down.
Or more accurately, as major WORKS that ENDED and then later got revived and turned into milkable franchises that keep adding more and more unnecessary and mediocre-at-best material to an ...

Eh, it was moreso the Shonen Jump monthly mag popping up in the states back in 03 and grouping DB, Naruto, OP, etc all together under one umbrella.
Yeah, I'm going to point fingers at this at well. "I don't know what shonen means, but I'm going to assume it's the kind of stuff printed in the ...

Not to mention, she has been refered to as Bulma in all of the official merchandise and media in both English as well as Japanese.

No, not really, it's a pun.Yuji wrote: Fri May 02, 2025 3:27 am Wait, I just clocked it. Does his name literally translate to "Men love"? Brother.
His name is Otokosky, using the slavic name ending "-sky" and punning off the fact that it sounds like "suki". It's pretty clever and pretty funny.

Sorry for the bump. Does anyone know what's different between the basic movie soundtrack for Bio-Broly and the "Drama Edition" soundtrack aside from the different packaging? Are all the tracks the same?
It's listed on the site here: https://www.kanzenshuu.com/music/miscellaneous/

It is, and they've taken some pretty big scissors to certain bits of dialogue. Sometimes so badly the rewritten line doesn't even make sense.BootyCheeksJohnson wrote: Sun Mar 23, 2025 2:24 amI think Ranma 1/2 is getting the same treatment now.

you might even want to go with a different translation for "martial arts" since it's not based on budō here, but I see "martial arts" as a regular enough translation of kakutō ... I dunno, maybe they're actually wrestlers, but it's not really that important.

Re: Why buy home video releases nowadays when you can just watch them via online streaming platforms?
I'll use my own experience to answer: I tried to watch a certain episode of DBS, the other day, on a site that has every episode of the franchise, and it had been removed, most of the other episodes are still there, but a few sometimes aren't. That kills the experience of binge-watching it ...
