They don't actually mention having a funeral for Goku, at least not in the manga (anywhere I kind find). So the armbands and black clothing might just be a sign of mourning for Goku. That's always how I pictured it was like. No ACTUAL funeral. Like not having a funeral is a sign of respect for Goku...
