Re: Did toonami use the OG dragon ball dub opening
Toonami didn’t but when they revived Toonami into the a Saturday night block called SVES or something (before the real revival of Toonami) they aired the opening. That was the first time I saw it.

Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
I honestly don’t know how to take this right now. Right before I heard this news, right at this moment, I was watching a street work out video and one of the guys in the video is named Broly. He does DBZ screams in between sets. THAT is how influential Toriyama-sensei’s impact is. Oh my God.

Vaguely related, but I once had every episode of GT Blue Water on my old laptop, sent to me by a fan in the UK in high quality. Great times.

Re: Dragon Ball Magic? *RUMOR*
If Komaki Aya is the series director of this supposed series that would make them the first female series director for a Dragon Ball series. That would be neat. If I’m not mistaken, GT’s director was a woman also named Aya. You're thinking of Matsui Aya, who was the series kousei (series compositio...

Re: Dragon Ball Magic? *RUMOR*
To clarify a few things: - As far as how this leak happened and where this information came from... It's something I've been wondering myself based on what has been said so far. The people responsible don't seem to have any first-hand information themselves. A lot of what they've posted is laughabl...

Re: Dragon Ball GT Storyline breakdown
Super 17 arc is a bridge between previous arcs and next arc, something that has never been done again in series. What i mean is that Super 17 didn't lead to Shadow Dragons. It was actually opposite kinda. Funny you say this. As a kid, before I knew about canon or anything, I always thought this abo...

Dragon Ball GT Would’ve Been Rated A Masterpiece If It Used The Plot Of The Metarex Saga From Sonic X
If you literally take the idea of the DBs and triage them with the Chaos Emeralds, cast and aesthetics, you get an excellent example of a story telling adventure.

Re: Didn't like the movie doggin' my boy Krillin
They think now Yamcha and Tien are too weak to be of any relevance they can just pick on Krillin. It was kinda annoying to see Bulma of all people making fun of how weak he is when he can blink her of existence. Stop bullying the human warriors. It was played very well. In universe Bulma and Krilli...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 87 - Official Discussion Thread
Uhm, okay. I don’t think you said anything I didn’t say. There are smatterings of times where Toei doesn’t go “jacked guy big power” and there are smatterings of times where Toriyama goes “jacked guy big power”. There are no absolutes in the universe, my guy. We define things based on trends. The t...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I don’t know how people aren’t reading Black Freeza as the tongue-in-cheek thematic closing to the arc it’s meant to be—while everyone was obsessing over, and cheating their way to, top slot, the one they were all after was just out there getting stronger through hard work, and shows up at the end ...

Re: [SPOILER] Toei Is Open to Risk, Would U Want Next Movie Gotenks-Lead?
Has anyone else noticed the trend? RF: Freeza Super Hero: ___ Max If the next film continues with the tease of older Gotenks would you enjoy him as the lead? I would if they somehow tie Raditz and Napa in as supports for them in a unique twist. Maybe a time travel or U6 thing. Is this supposed to b...

There was an English Z dub in Asia, Philippines maybe, that had a female narrator. It made watching Goku vs. Vegeta very interesting to watch.

Re: Any influence of Fist of the North Star on Dragon Ball's original production?
And most notably, it had a VERY sizable impact on one Osamu Tezuka. Yup, THAT Osamu Tezuka. Even by the time Garo had first debuted in the mid-1960s, Tezuka was already the most prolific mainstream artist working in the manga/anime industry. Tezuka was well known to have fallen head over heels in l...

gem. Listen to me. At the moment of typing this, I have only half read your post. But I’ve been reading manga for close to 20 years, and what you are saying is undoubtably my most favorite, insightful post I have ever seen on this site and possibly Dragon Ball (by proxy) as a whole for me. Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 110 - GT 41, TV Special, 42-43 (CURRENT WEEK)
Enma not letting Piccolo go to hell to help, they let Goku and Paikuhan go to hell to lend a hand a few times. I feel this arc would've made more sense with a different approach, without a lab in hell, without so many things. Maybe with the DBs being used for opening the portal and that being one o...
