I found this tweet from Lee from 2022. Unfortunately, the youtube link he is replying to no longer works as the account in question got terminated but he at least seemed to think it was Ocean Kai footage and featured his work.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 11; Still Unreleased
There was once a video up that showed the final five seconds of the actual opening to Ocean Kai, with the lyrics "This is what I was born to be" from the demo reel of someone who worked on producing the TV edit of it, but the YouTube channel it was uploaded to was either shut down or taken down ...

Re: Dale Wilson passes away
I honestly didn’t know that Pauline and Doc had passed away. I’m nowhere near as active in the online DB community as I once was. RIP to Pauline, Doc, and Dale. Three great voice actors and a big part of the Ocean/Westwood dub which is what I had.

Re: The end of "Akira Toriyama canon"
Like a few others have also stated, I would've been fine if we had never gotten this Dragon Ball revival and the franchise had stayed "ended" at DBGT. I have never been a fan of Dragon Ball Super in any capacity. The theatrical movies were decent on their own but for me, that was it. The series ...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
I don’t see a redub being needed or warranted and if it were to happen, I don’t see it being a success. The redub with Sailor Moon was a very different circumstance. The original dub never made it to the end of the series as the entire last season (Sailor Stars) was left unavailable in English. The ...

Re: Justin Chatwin apologizes for Dragonball Evolution
Is the “As early as 2011” in your post a typo? Evolution was released mid-2009 so if the 2011 is date, then it wasn’t in development until long after DBE and Akira Toriyama could’ve indeed been there from the start.

Re: Justin Chatwin apologizes for Dragonball Evolution
Wasn’t this poorly received movie one of the main reasons why Akira decided to take more control of the franchise and write more? Leading to the BoG film, DBS and so on? If yes, Dragon Ball would look very differently today had Evolution not existed. Speaking about Evolution on its own merits, no ...

I said I believe they’re likely AI. (But in fairness, the Ryo one is significantly better than the other)
But it’s still an assumption with no known information on where these audio files came from and who made them. They’re just random YouTube videos with no context.

Re: Could foreign dub casts be a thing of the past?
So where is the evidence that these two videos are even AI? I believe that they likely are but there's no proof given in either of those links. Also, who is the uploader? Do we know anything about them either?

Re: A very important 15-year anniversary just passed (and your opinion on it)
Right, but at the end of the day, placing their dub over the Japanese score was a minor band-aid. They polished a turd.
And that's where we have to agree to disagree I guess because I think it was a major upgrade.
Also, I was honestly satisfied with the redub of Season 1 and 2.
I was also ...

A very important 15-year anniversary just passed (and your opinion on it)
Last week was the 15th anniversary of when Funimation released the first Orange Brick and hence, the first time Funimation finally released DBZ the way people had been fighting for (for the past 11 years at that point, 96-07) English dubbed Dragon Ball Z with the original background music left fully ...

Re: Could a dub version of "Cha-La Head Cha-La" work?
Wasn't there a somewhat English version of it on the orange bricks?
There was one in Philippines! It was a different version than usual but I really like listening to it. Two versions even!
I like the first one the best (of course besides the original Japanese)

No amount of strong VA work will make things like fake Namek, snake way filler, and Garlic Jr worth watching for me.

What if international versions of DBZ had gone the Kai route from the get go?
DBZ is loaded with filler as we all know but it was for an understandable reason. The anime couldn't go ahead of the manga so they needed to stall for time. We all have our varying opinions on the quality of the filler and it's all valid but we can't really argue the necessity of the filler in the ...

Re: Long Live Chris Ayres
Always found if disturbing that Ayres needed to resort to a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for his medical bills. Shameful that Funimation didn't do more to help. I don't care if his contract stated no health benefits, you're a multi-million dollar company and one of your VAs was literally dying ...
