Re: Dragon Ball Super Gets Cancelled Overseas Over Sexual Harassment Claims
Normal people aren't shaped by media. You are either incredibly uneducated, or extremely ignorant, and what you have stated here could not possibly be further from the truth. Human beings are intensely influenced by the things they see and experience in the environment around them. It is literally ...

Greetings from a lapsed fan
10 years ago when I got my last Dragon Box, I lapsed as a fan. I had discovered Dragon Ball in the late 90s with the Ocean dub of the original series, and much of my interest would be driven for the next 10+ years directly thanks to Funimation holding the series hostage. When new Ocean episodes stop...

Re: Dragon Box Z 2's Hands On Discussion
Spines look much better out of the box. I bet when they are all released, we'll be able to get one big box to put them all in, solving this spine issue. Got my DBox2 on Saturday and watched a few episodes. Man, that filler that bridges the two Dragonboxes is just awful. Otherwise, seems to be the ex...

No, the PS3 didn't give me the option of adjusting the aspect ratio settings. That's why I had to do it with my TV. I also tested the DVD on my desktop computer and while it's not as bad as it was on the PS3, the colors were still bleeding like crazy on the first episode (mostly in the darker scene...

Why wouldn't it? Regardless of the aspect ratio in which he chooses to view the Dbox, it cannot be argued that the picture quality and clarity is leaps and bounds above what is seen on the season sets. Do you really think watching this in 4:3 is the only selling point here? Another factor is screen...

Sorry, but if there is one thing i don't like is watching something with black bars. Then i feel stupid for buying such a big tv... Why are you bothering with the Dragonboxes then? You can get the season sets for a fraction of the price and you can watch it in anamorphic widescreen as opposed to ha...

I decided to return my cracked case to rightstuf. I mailed the return in on Monday, and got a new Dragonbox back yesterday (Friday). Fairly quick, but I'm only 2 hours from them, so take it with a grain of salt. My new set looks perfect. No cracks or smashed packaging. Haven't played any of the disk...

A brighter picture generally means a narrower color spectrum (less full) which is probably the result of more compression (in the same way that more compressed sound is quieter). We're seeing the direct result of Funi cramming an extra episode on the disk and this is EXACTLY why we didn't want even ...

I wish there was an official Dbox thread that wasn't locked that I could post this in, but I emailed right stuff and asked if the set was delayed. Thank you for your email. The manufacturer of Dragon Ball Z Season 1 Dragon Box Z DVD Set is now estimating that we will receive this item between Novemb...

It has more to do with changes in the characters' motivations. When care is not taken in the translation (or when silent scenes are filled in with endless, made up dialogue), a character's motivation changes, and thus, the character itself changes. For instance, Funimation's Goku is motivated very d...

I just don't understand how you can be so passionate about a work of art and not want to experience it in its original, unmodified form. I know. I don't understand why people watch the anime either. You could state this point without the sarcasm and it would be less likely to lead to the types of a...

That's exactly how I watch all anime dubs. I don't look for accuracy or any of that shit. I just watch it to enjoy it. Ok... I'm attempting to calmly discuss this so mods don't get mad. I'm wondering, just how bad of a translation would it have to be before you would give a shit? Where do you draw ...
