Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Who is the strongest Z character DBS Piccolo (pre SH) can defeat? Manga and anime.
Manga: I agree with others keeping him below Cell at his strongest, though there's admittedly some ambiguity in his Moro arc team-ups with Gohan.
Precisely because they're ambiguous though, I'm not intended to ...

Re: Aside from the casualties, why did Goku agree to fight Majin Vegeta?
I think it's genuinely successfully presented as a mix of things.
The immediate impetus is Vegeta's killing spree, and that's the reason Goku gives us. But I think it's also presented as more the final straw that prompts Goku to understand just how much the fight means to Vegeta and to admit to ...

Re: Who would you choose for your team in a tournament?
Holy thread bump!
Is the goal to win? Then with even strength you're just looking for skill, ingenuity, and major hax, right?
1. Goku
2. Boo
3. Dabra
4. Hit
5. Moro

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
If they're doing whole new cuts, it's honestly not unthinkable that they just go ham on one or two episodes to redo chunks of the battle for "F"—both for better visuals and to align with the manga's lack of God absorption if taking that route (SSG Goku vs. Freeza?).

An incredibly recognizable, distinctive voice that was always a delight as Boo and in other roles.

Re: Does anyone else wish that it was an OG Dragon Ball remake?
I feel like that's looking at it the wrong way.
I don't think the logic was "We need to remake part of DB." I think it was, "We need to adapt the remaining Super arcs, and it's a hard sell to trot out Season 6 of a series that ended nearly a decade ago without bringing people back on board. We have ...

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus a remake, a remaster, or a reboot? I tend to lean myself towards either a remake or a reboot, but I'm confused about which one since none of the trailers mention "remake", making me assume this is a reboot. And I don't see Dragon ...

I don't know why people are taking this in bad faith. The Moro arc adaptation is more than a year out, and as a seasonal production aiming for high quality (if Daima set a precedent), it wasn't coming any faster.

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
I can't say that I like the idea of an enhanced version but I hope they don't treat each arc as a different series because in the end we'll have too many different series and as a result the distribution will be quite complicated.
It's the same thing Demon Slayer did. Per-arc subtitles are in ...

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
It makes sense to remaster Super, tie it to the Manga and finally have only one continuity. This had to be done. Cherry on top is that the anime finally gets a good treatment, fixing its old pacing, animation, and characterization issues.
Long-term good choice even though short-term it means ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol" (20??) Discussion Thread
Unless they get adapted into the anime, no. The rights to use manga-only stuff are different from anime-only stuff for some reason. Hence why Sparking Zero could only get away with incidental references to the manga (like SS God Goku in his Res F gi just being the result of Super Goku having ...

Yeah, it's just meant to be a better onroading to new material than the existing Super anime.
Which, fair enough. This should be a much easier (in terms of both quality and time) watch for anyone getting into things in 2025.

I'm not expecting any major story changes to the recut arcs. I don't see how they could do much more than pare down on the 2015 anime content. Following the manga or unused Toriyama notes would require far wider-reaching deviations.
It'll be interesting to see if they bother worrying about ...

Looks like they're taking a page from the current shonen anime zeitgeist ushered in by Demon Slayer and adapting each arc as separately subtitled seasons.
Visual style from the poster looks very nice!
Glad this will finally free up the later manga characters for multimedia appearances.

If I'd had a nickel for how each time someone "leaked" stuff who had similar credentials only for them to turn out to be completely making stuff up... Well I wouldn't be rich but I'd have a decent supply of nickels by now.

Would basically only be excited for a return of the Super manga at this point, or an animated adaptation of its later arcs.
EDIT--Or a remake of Super /manga adaptation, which actually does make some sense as a build-up to new material. I've theorized before that you could easily get through the ...

Re: Torishima gives his opinion on Dragon Ball Daima and says he would make a Vegeta story
His comments are harsh--nothing lost in translation--but people need to understand that in addition to being a savvy editor, Torishima has always been a bit of a provocateur with a Gordon Ramsay-like persona, and that's increased in his twilight years.
Essentially what Mr Baggins said.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I personally enjoyed Granola a lot more than Moro on my last re-read. The Minus Bardock stuff super fucking sucks, but the hubbub about "who is really the strongest in the universe?", the discourse about being strong vs. knowing how to use that strength, and the multi-directional grudges playing ...

Torishima rocks, actually.
The good thing about Saudi Arabia is that they have the money to make it spectacular, instead of cramming it somewhere in Europe and cramping on the budget.
