I don't doubt that the story he wrote is also called BOG. Not that there's evidence that he considers any of it as part of the manga continuity. If he meant his version and not "Toei's version", why wouldn't he specify? Now you're being selectively literal.
I give up. You're looking to argue, not ...

Re: Was Goku talking about Vegito or Gogeta in BOG?
You're too willing to consider unreliable evidence as evidence. Understanding how marketing "for something like this" works has nothing to do with anything. The marketing has worked, but the statement is not reliable for an obvious reason: it's not true.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Nothing ever states that BOG happened in the manga's continuity ... Not to mention that at best, it's the story that Toriyama wrote that belongs to manga's continuity, and not what Toei made of that in BOG animation . If he intended RoF to be a continuation of the manga, and calls RoF a direct ...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
What is too literal? Nothing ever states that BOG happened in the manga's continuity. We had quite a few discussions regarding this in the past, so I should know. Not to mention that at best, it's the story that Toriyama wrote that belongs to manga's continuity, and not what Toei made of that in BOG ...

Re: Was Goku talking about Vegito or Gogeta in BOG?
I'm claiming that the statement that Beerus is the strongest in the history of Z is contradictory, thus absolutely unreliable.
It was completely reliable when it was made, at which point it was serving its purpose of hyping up the film and keeping us in the dark on a big reveal. Even now, it is ...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
So "I thought up the story as if it were a continuation of the manga when it was in serialization " translates to "the story belongs to the manga continuity"? Not in my book. To me it sounds like "I thought up a story imagining as if I was continuing the manga", which says nothing about it being ...

Re: Was Goku talking about Vegito or Gogeta in BOG?
Sure you can. It's called marketing. Billing Beerus as the strongest being in the history of Z creates hype for the film, and the reveal with with Whis is supposed to leave you with an interesting surprise at the end after you become invested and are looking forward to what will come next.
It ...

Re: Was Goku talking about Vegito or Gogeta in BOG?
Beerus was also described in promotional material as the "strongest in the history of Z" up till that point, which would include Vegetto and exclude the Whis reveal (as that was meant to be a surprise at the end of the film).
You cannot exclude a confirmed DB characer. If Beerus is strongest in Z ...

Where does Toriyama say that BOG/ROF are part of the manga continuity? "Writing it as if the manga was still in serialization" does not translate to "Writing it as part of the manga continuity".

I am absolutely calm. You calm down.

There's no reason for him to go out of his way to avoid it. If he's thousands of times stronger, he would literally just stand there and tank it. And that was after he realized how strong he is.

Re: Anyone else think Vegeta was too easily forgiven by the
Evidently, usefulness beats evilness by Dragon World standarts, that's why Vegeta continued to be accepted by everyone even though he has always remained evil and dangerous.
But he wasn't useful for anyone except the villains.
Wasn't or not, according to Enma he may have been of use, which took ...

Re: Does a saiyan tail go blonde in SS?
Well, let's first acknowledge the fact that a Saiyan's tail fur (and Ozaru fur) is brown, as opposed to their black head hair color. So if a Saiyan's black hair turns blonde when going SS, it is not the same as a Saiyan's brown hair turning blonde, so it is not fair to say that "it makes more sense ...

Re: Anyone else think Vegeta was too easily forgiven by the
Vegeta had never saved more people than he killed. That is fact.
And for those he saved, it was usually the result of him being a selfish prick rather than a protector. He never really did anything for the sake of others (with a possible exception of his family, and even the most evil people can ...
