I've always thought of canon as stuff that happened in the original comic. Anything outside of that is non canon, but maybe thats just me =/

The Buu arc was AWESOME up untill majin buu actually showed up, then it started going downhill lol. My personal favorite arc in all of dragonball is the Pilaf arc when they first find the dragonballs. I just love that little guy lol.
