Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

Just to be clear though, aren't there different things in the manga as well that contradict each other and doesn't really work or make sense?
Kaio's planet is somehow back, Shenlong grants 1 wish instead of 3 for some reason, and Mr. Satan doesn't remember Dende for some reason. But they can be ...

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

N ot really be cause a lot of the i r stories contradict other stories . (For example,) in B atman it is stated that Ti m D rake was R obin . I n the N ew 52 th e n a year later in T een T itans it says he has never been R obin , only R ed R obin , and I 'm sure there is a lot of stuff like that ...

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

H e came up with the char a cters that the stories are based of f of ( B roly , S uper 13 , C ooler , e tc .) .

Yeah but he really had nothing to do with the plot. Besides I don't really see a problem with accepting movies as alternative universe like the whole Future Trunks angle.

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

Not really. Just to throw a theory out there, Bulma was killed by Buu and we don't really know how much time was spent outside of Earth after Buu destroyed it. Could that possibly be why?
No, we know that Bulma was dead for less than a day. Just change the wrong numbers with the correct numbers in ...

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

Well, and beyond all that, we have a couple key dates (namely Bulma's age due to her birthday) that literally DO NOT WORK AT ALL with what's been established before, sooooo...

Do mathematical contradictions like this affect your final decision(s)?

Not really. Just to throw a theory out there ...

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

E v e ryone has a diff e rent view on what's canon ical cause no one at T o ei or T or i yama ha s ever said this is and that's not .

T o me the only canon is the manga and ev e rything else (is a) side stor y.

I would say any story that the original author had something to do with should be ...

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

I just want to know if he is involved in the plot of the movie. That's good enough for me really.
Yeah, but I'd caution you just by saying there was already a plot written before it was brought to Toriyama. He changed SOME stuff about it, but he didn't come up with the concept itself. Whether or ...

Re: So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

I would say any story that the original author had something to do with should be canon. How deep was Toriyama's involvement in this movie? He had something to do with writing it right?
Well, Toriyama had "something to do" with lots of external projects. He did character designs for a lot of the ...

Saiyan Prince Vegeta wrote:Whenever I read Toriyama talking about talking about the movie it seems to me that he accepts it as the official history of DB. Could just be me though. :P
Just this movie or movies in general? Which interview(s)?

So is Battle of the Gods confirmed canon?

Sorry that I am so late on this and sorry if there has been other threads on this. But I have been hearing that's been confirmed canon. Was it confirmed by just Toie or was it confirmed in the Weekly Shounen Jump? Did Toriyama say it was Canon?

Please no spoilers. I haven't seen it yet.

Re: Did Kid Goku start out with a power-level of 10?

Yeah I get that but still I think he is still pretty strong for a human being. Would have him in the teir just below Yamcha.

Plus I don't think he had a power-level of 100. Does it say anywhere that he did?

Yeah, he's strong. I just don't think he's as strong as many people say.

And no, it's ...

Re: Did Kid Goku start out with a power-level of 10?

Mr. Satan was pretty strong for a human being though. He survived a slap from Cell and getting hit in the head in a mountain.

You shouldn't take gag scenes as feats for characters' strengths.

Later, in the Boo arc, Mr. Satan was downed by one bullet and had to have Mr. Boo revive him, while ...

Re: Did Kid Goku start out with a power-level of 10?

Power levels that dont appear inseries are never announced by Toriyama, just purely speculation by Toei, FUNi or the watchers.

I've heard of goku being PL10, making him weaker than Mr Satan who I think has a PL of 100.

Mr. Satan was pretty strong for a human being though. He survived a slap from ...

Did Kid Goku start out with a power-level of 10?

I'm talking about the first time he appeared on screen where he caught a giant fish and met Bulma for the first time.

I don't know what to believe anymore about power-levels other than what I see on the screen. I have heard before that its what he started out with the first time we see him. Is it ...

Re: Are these Cooler, Broly, Gogeta power-levels true?

Actually no I take that back wikia has him credited as the story writer for all the movies except for Wrath of the Dragon. Which is actually quite weird really since Wrath of the Dragon was actually one of the movies that actually made sense and I could picture him write.
Toriyama is always ...

Re: Are these Cooler, Broly, Gogeta power-levels true?

These characters belongs to movies, so you can be sure that Toriyama would never give any information about them except for the notes in Coola and Broli sketches.

Besides battle powers don't exist anymore after the battle with Freeza, it's very unlikely that Toriyama ever tought of how strong the ...

Re: Are these Cooler, Broly, Gogeta power-levels true?

Was Toriyama the one that stated that those are their power-level? I know he has gave out couple of different power-levels on jump magazines and such but did he do this? Or was it just the game creator?
None of the extra battle powers given in Weekly Jump or V-Jump are explicitly stated as being ...

Its from a game or something like that. Theres more info in this thread

And its up to you if you want to count stuff from video games but I would think most wouldn't since its not in the manga or even the anime.

well actually none of those ...
