During my time at school today, I listened to some of the Kikuchi score while reading Rave Master.

Tracks specifically:
Son Goku's Counterattack (1st two pieces)
Son Goku is the Strongest After All! (1st piece)
Dragon Ball Z (4th and 5th pieces I think)

Did you start at Z? That could be why she didn't care for the Nappa fight. If you've watched Dragon Ball all the way to Z, you've grown with these characters. Their deaths are a much bigger deal and give off a greater impact.

I should probably explain why I bother even ask about the dub even she's "ok with whatever I prefer", as she has so stated just earlier today. I ask because the two times we've sat down to watch Kai, she kept getting texts from who knows who. And of course she keeps answering them one after another ...

so you won't have that much of a difference in story outside of how it's presented, so just go with what you feel like. If you just want them to get the story and nothing else, dub. If you want them to get the right presentation, sub.

I think this captured Dragon Ball's charm well, at least.
