I wouldn't say Vegeta's hate is pointless. He hates Goku because of how easy everything comes to him. Also Vegeta is used to being the most powerful Saiyan by far. Having someone close to him in power or even greater pisses him off.

Good question. I think if Kami died of old age Piccolo wouldn't die. I think that's the only way of breaking their bond without both of them dying.

I have no idea what would happen but I think if Buff Buu absorbed East Kaioshin he'd be weaker than Buff Buu but stronger than Fat Buu. Just because I don't think East Kaioshin is quite as "pure" as Dai Kaioshin.
