Re: What if dragon ball was a comic book series?

I have to say it's a bit troubling hearing Western comic books being framed as "lacking consistency" and "rebooted ten different times" and so forth. I don't think that comic book history deserves to be misrepresented in that way. If anything, Dragon Ball might become *more* consistent in the Marve...

Re: Spirit Bomb Wrestling Move

Cool. It’s a combo of the Last Ride and Bautista Bomb. I love that he calls it the Spirit Bomb. Hope he comes to AEW. NXT's been treating him well and he's playable in 2K20. Will say does kind of bring to mind that guy Krillin beat in the 25th Budokai due to being agile as well as a big powerhouse....

Spirit Bomb Wrestling Move

Don't know if guys on here knew about this, but there's a wrestler named Keith Lee who calls one of his finishing moves "The Spirit Bomb". It's a powerbomb variation and while it doesn't exactly look like when Goku uses one, thought it was interesting given the name. Here's a video showing a few tim...

Re: Saban Funi "Battle Stars" Censorship

With the Arlians, there's a thing tvtropes calls "Measure of a humanoid" when non-human like creatures are fair game and get offed quite a bit, but humans or human like creatures won't get as harmed or killed. Know some gamers who are ok with first-person shooters like Halo, Doom or Area 51 where th...

Re: The Good old days of Dragonball websites.

Used to go on the old ones like Planet Namek, and Temple O Trunks a bit, and had to be careful a lot as some of those old sites didn't exactly hide spoilers. Was funny when Meri had the bits done with action figures where Bulma and other females were played by Sailor Guardians as back then, the old ...

Re: What specifically was wrong with Vic Mignogna’s take on Broly?

Broly was the first thing I knew him for, and I liked it. Back in 2007, when I had him sign my dvd of the first Broly movie, he was surprised to see it, and happy to sign. Had a few times when something similar to happen of having actors sign things they weren't expecting after mainly signing some t...

Re: Will Toonami survive without new Dragon Ball Content?

I know about Dragon Ball Super, what I want to know is how Toonami is going right now. The new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure premieres this Saturday. Demon Slayer just premiered, and not sure if it's part of Toonami or AS regular, but that new Genndy Tartakovsky show "Primal" will be on at 10:30 this Sa...

Re: Will Toonami survive without new Dragon Ball Content?

Kunzait is an older person who at the time DB ended in 2003, quite a few Funimation regulars like Justin Briner, Alexis Tipton and Byn Appril would've been too young for him/her to date. (No clue on Kunzati's personal life or gender hence referring to women and men who would've been 12, 14 and 7 at ...

Re: Will Toonami survive without new Dragon Ball Content?

Say good bye to The Guyver, Fist of the North Star, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Urusei Yatsura, Robot Carnival, Wicked City, Golgo 13, Bubblegum Crisis, etc. and say hello to DBZ (A very bad dub of it), Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Medabots, ...

Re: Will Toonami survive without new Dragon Ball Content?

The Toonami broadcast was how I watched Kill la Kill. Also Aniplex charging an arm and a leg led to that. (Which is why I wanted Funimation to get it first, but now I'm ok as while I like the guys who are usually in Funimation series, can't picture anyone else doing the voices than the cast now).

Re: How DBZ on Cartoon Network worked? Please help explain

The only way to watch DBZ Uncut on CN was the midnight run which was on a week days (Monday through Thursday). Most of its main audience was probably in bed at the time because they have to awake up early for school. The dub was still terrible even it is uncut. I don't think DBZ aired uncut during ...

Re: So how does one *correctly* hug their fans?

It's not that hard to ask me (one of those mysterious "women" that roam the wilds of Forever 21) for a hug if we meet at a public event. If I say yes, then you do it like a normal non-creepy person does. Of course, this is an offshoot of the whole Vic thing so we'll just get right to it. Wanna make...

That's how most of Pioneer's as well as their successor Geneon's dvds were with the listing of translated credits with the end ones having Japanese crew then English crew later.

Re: DB could work as Cartoon Series?

Technically, DB is a cartoon series. Yeah, there are the crazy otaku who will call me a blasphemer for calling a Japanese cartoon a cartoon, but that's what it is. If tey mean remade in different animation, I'd say not so. As for guys talking about remakes, interestingly enough, back when DBZ starte...

Re: If a woman were to voice Goku in English, who should it be?

That's one of the great things about voiceover is that you're not limited to physical appearance as one may be with a live action performance. For example, James Avery and Kevin Michael Richardson did great voices for the Shredder. They couldn't play him in a live action role as they were different ...

Was Allenby in the Blue Water Dub?

I forget the actress' name as of this post, but was wondering was the actress who played Allenby Beardsley in G Gundam in the BLue Water dub of DB, or any others by that company? Know she was in other shows recorded at that studio like Zoids: Chaotic Century, Zeta Gundam (as Four Murasame), etc, so ...
