Re: The one scene that is SO much better with the Kikuchi sc
The scene where Goku sacrifices himself to get rid of Cell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcD1ScKgqUk The Kikuchi music they use for this scene is PERFECT. Why did Kikuchi never use this theme in the original version? That good ol' M1420 score. I was watching my Season 2 Kai DVD, and they used th...

Yeah, I'm reckon it will be a 2016 release.Lord Beerus wrote:FUNi will definitely release it some time in 2016. If worse case scenario, that doesn't happen, I'll always have Dragon Ball Super to back me up.Muffin Man wrote:At this point I just hope it comes out at all.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
It sounds like what happened is that they're using actors based in Vancouver ("the Ocean cast") for the bigger, more significant roles, and using actors based in Toronto ("the Blue Water cast") for the lesser roles. At what point a role becomes "lesser" is not entirely...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
I was disheartened about Kirby Morrow not returning even though he auditioned since i felt he got screwed over to the point i almost lost all interest until recently :( and Don Brown must reprise Shenlong and most of his roles! wouldn't mind a King Kai replacement either. Like Kirby said in an inte...

Re: MangaUK Licenses Dragon Ball Z Kai for DVD & Blu-ray
Any one get season 2 yet? Does it have the yamamoto score? I bought Season 2 today. All of the episodes from 27 to 39 have the Yamamoto score. I'm on the third disc now which is technically Part 4 according to the DVD menu, and it's playing the Kikuchi score. Which I presume is also going to be the...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
It's been 5 years so I think it's safe to say the "well they never really announced it" excuse is wearing thin. My four best guesses are... 1: As mentioned above the dub is ready but companies think it's wiser to just not release them as they would probably lose money. 2: There are multip...

So I guess once Season 3 is released it will switch to the Kikuchi score? I hope Season 2 will still have the Yamamoto score intact. Guess we'll have to wait till September to find out.

Re: Why do people blame Ocean for butchering the show?
It should also be worth noting that not everyone who calls it the "Ocean Dub" thinks that means that Ocean were 100% responsible for the product. Just calling it the "Ocean Dub" is a lot easier than saying every time "The Early FUNimation dub that they subcontracted to Ocea...

I have high hopes that the movie will surpass DB Evolution. I believe Dragonball Evolution's box office was around $57.6 million if I'm correct?

Re: Schemmel never heard Nozawa till 2004
Mimicking the original actor is stupid, especially if you can't do it. An actor's job is to make the role their own, not copy another actor. Then you would hire someone who does play the part. It's a dub, not an origianl work; it is supposed to be a near identical experience of the original so the ...

I never found this an issue when I first saw DBZ in Japanese. I can understand why people hate it though.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
It's a shame that they won't be able to get David Kaye back. Seeing as he's a full time union VA in LA now. It's probably why he didn't return as Sesshomaru in Inuyasha The Final Act. I reckon he could pull off Perfect Cell. It would sound a lot better than Dale Wilson's Cell in my opinion. Was Dav...

Re: Did You Like Cell Saga Mr. Satan?
I did not like Mr Satan in the Cell Saga at all. Like you stated at the end of you post.
Although in the Buu Saga, his character is fleshed out more, and he becomes much more likeable. He was a weak, sniveling, arrogant piece of shit and took credit for all the actual heroes' efforts.

So, is there any new info regarding who else has been cast in this dub for Kai? Or can we expect a slow couple of weeks before any new news comes out? Slow weeks ? Oh man, if only it were just that. The wait for this dub has been a slow four years ! It's important to remember that this dub ha...

I hope we get a release of Kai in the UK. Not really fond of the orange bricks. And I'm definitely not fond of it's dub either.
