Re: A 3rd DBZ special?

If you have the DBZ BGM collection, look at page 36 in the booklet and between episodes 211 and 212, there was a special that aired on 12/31/93. Could this be that "overview special" that wasn't really important and all it was is Goku and Gohan talking about the DBZ movies? I remember bec...

WELL IT'S ABOUT FRIGGIN' TIME! ... I can actually say that it went off pretty well. It's not quite worth the money if you already own the 5-disc set ... I'm enthused to finally have (oh glory be!) "Coola's Multiplicity" from Movie 6 on CD, devoid of sound effects and yapping! ... Finally....

Nice podcast. About the Complete BGM Collection, a lot of the Boo Saga music is on it on Disc 3, especially the most important pieces used. I think this should've deserved a mention considering many like myself have been searching for these pieces for a long time. Also I found the added tracks of He...

No, don't worry, it's just a table with original air dates and the episode titles, nothing more.

I ordered from mine from CD Japan and via EMS as well. They also sent me a poster of the Complete Music Collection with the set, apparently to persuade people to buy both. Yeah, the set does come with a booklet, which contains mini descriptions of each piece in there, lyrics for the TV size songs an...

I was first exposed to DBZ before DB and it was through merchandise. Let's see, it was September 1992, back in primary school, I was shown by a classmate the infamous, shiny DBZ trading cards that were printed in Japanese. Shortly, I then found out when it aired on TV (every Saturday I think it was)...

Complete BGM Collection - I received mine today

Two days to the UK... my, they must have some sort of secret passage from Japan to here. I guess living here as a uni student temporarily does have its advantages. What can I say? It does have the bulk of the Boo Saga music that I've always really wanted and searched everywhere for. Furthermore, it ...

- Disc 3 may contain about 16 minutes of music from the 5-disc set. That leaves about 58 minutes for unreleased pieces (not counting the Movies 10 and 11 soundtracks). Much, much better, but it's still doubtful it'll contain *all* of the BGM we haven't heard on CD. Hurrah, now that's more like it. ...

Really like the German version of Rock the Dragon you guys made - it's professional and seems official sounding to my ears. Yes, far too often, people either pronounce it "SAY-uhn," or "SAY-uh-jihn". But, now, you don't have to do that! :) I must admit, I used the latter for quite some time, but I was eventually corrected. Sorry for the off topic-ness. People can pronounce it however they want, it's ...

There are trailers in the FUNi DVD's I think, though for only a select few. 45 minutes is kinda short for a theatrical film, but thats just my opinion I remember when I watched some of the DBZ movies when I was a kid, they were usually lumped with Dr. Slump movies, so they lasted an hour and a half ...

Actually, as I understand it, the Chinese use "徳" for Germany, while the Japanese use "独" (with the pronunciations you provided, respectively). I could be wrong, however. No, you got it right, I assumed that the character would be the same simply because it was kanji per se (i.e...

Re: Janemba Janempa?

I was in a discussion once where it was suggested that the name "Janemba" actually came from a French phrase. It wasn't "j'ai n'est pas," but something along those lines, with some hateful, spiteful meaning to it ... Yes, that would be "Je n'aime pas" meaning "I d...

In my experience, it is. "Doku" is used in shorthand, such as, say, in newspaper articles, but "Doitsu" seems to be more vernacular. Ah, so I take it Doitsu is more to do with the spoken language and in less 'literary' situations, whereas Doku is used in formal and written means...
