Re: Has DBS Added Too Many Storylines & Elements To Match Up Believably With Z's Final Chapter?

Well, so far I don't think DBS messed with EoZ, like, at all, since there were no serious battles, and we could have always assumed that characters haven't stopped training in that era of peace. It is, however, a little bit hard to believe that, when rewatching EoZ, that things like Zamasu, and ToP...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

You’re severely overestimating how many Dragon Ball fans give a shit about canon. Broly was a popular character and Dragon Ball z is a popular series. This version counting more than the last version didn’t give any more incentive for fans to see it. No you're completely wrong. As far as franchises...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

It offered a vast battle across time and space. That never actually happened with the Androids and Cell arc, cause all the main battles were located in the Present timeline and on the planet Earth. It still boils down to largely the same thing. A villain shows up in Trunks' timeline should he trave...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

It's a martial arts story, having another tournament doesn't equal lack of creativity. Hell, if that were the case, it would be like saying sports movies that end in a big game are creatively bankrupt. Lol no it's nothing at all like that. Not even a little. Following that logic, most arcs of Z are...

Future Trunks arc - Another story that involved a menace showing up in Trunks timeline.
Following that logic, most arcs of Z are not original either because they all involve a new threat showing up on Earth. Zamasu is a completely different villain from the Androids.

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Just because the premise of the story sounds fanfiction-ish doesn't mean it's a bad story. The Goku Black arc was good. The ending is the only thing most people I've seen complain about, and that had nothing to do with the concept of Goku Black.

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

I don't see a lot of people around here having a negative opinion of Super and its future. There are plenty of threads on how the story could develop, what characters could come back, etc. Also yes, there is still a lot of value to be had from modern Dragon Ball. At least for me. I really enjoyed th...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

The Gods are selfish. If Zamasu had limited Project Zero Mortals to U7 and U10, they probably would not have even intervened. They did no do anything when U7 was ravaged by Buu and Freeza. They are proactive only when their universes are concerned. Speaking of which, we never saw what Zamasu did in...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

He didn't really look like a bad guy at the beginning. In fact I remember seeing many theories about him being a potential good guy or ally against Black, or maybe that he would find the right path unlike his counterpart. Shin looked much more villainous when he first appeared. It's only when Future...

Re: SSGSS Evolution is a Disgustingly Bad, Ugly Transformation

In that case you can’t have bad writing, because what we were discussing was bad writing. Still not what I said. I said that just because the writers set something up does not make it bad writing. Otherwise anything is bad writing, because in fiction the writer always sets up things, that's how the...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

I already acknowledged that it was not his position to destroy things, but why should a mortal care? How is Beerus destroying a planet for petty reasons different from the perspective of a mortal? In fact I even said I was not softening Zamasu's actions, I'm pointing out the double standards applied...

Re: SSGSS Evolution is a Disgustingly Bad, Ugly Transformation

Okay...so bad writing doesn’t exist period, because it was ‘meant to happen’. I didnt say that, I said that anything that happens is because the writers set that up, so that is not indication of bad writing. Zamasu didn’t see Black improving so quickly once again, Black shouldn’t have gone through ...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

Even if she did, Champa would still destroy the planet as she said, so it doesn't really matter at this point. And don't forget that Angels are neutral, they don't have to feel anything towards mortals nor show any remorses. Her smiling does not make her a bloodthirsty murderer, she is just doing h...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

Vados destroyed a planet because Champa asked her. She then says that even if she told him that it was the wrong planet he would've done it anyway. As for Beerus' case, it is true that he is cruel and is abusing his power, I'd say he is selfish and can be pretty apathetic too. But he at least did n...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

A lot of other Gods are sadistic by the way, not just Zamasu. At the beginning of Super, Beerus destroyed a planet full of innocents and smiled, saying that "seeing a planet explode never failed to lighten up his mood". Vados also casually destroyed a planet, knowing full well that she had no reason...

Re: SSGSS Evolution is a Disgustingly Bad, Ugly Transformation

You either don’t pay attention or you’re unable to grasp the situation and analyse it. What Black did was stupid, period. I can understand manga Black getting desperate, but anime Black has already ripped a dimensional hole(or something) and was kicking Goku and Vegeta around with his clones. Not t...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

Not really convenient, just how it works. If it's not part of the text or subtext, it doesn't matter. Christ, in Broly, they outright dismiss the Bardock TV specials telling of events. You think any subsequent writer should be beholden to some bit of lore from a damn guide? . Also, what was his poi...

Re: SSGSS Evolution is a Disgustingly Bad, Ugly Transformation

I'm referring to the notes we got from Toriyama and trying to piece everything together. Frieza and Goku are different species. Goku Black is broken, fusing was the worst thing he could have done, he was dominating the others once again and yet still went to Zamasu to fuse, it just goes to show how...

Re: No, Zamasu was never good.

If it's in a guide, it doesn't count. Only stuff IN the story counts. How convenient that it does not count, even though it is an official guide based on the manga that even contains an interview with Toryiama. Then how about a direct statement from Toryiama confirming that Zamasu was indeed good a...
