Re: What would be your ideal Dragon Ball home release?
I was hoping that would happen with the leaks and unfair treatment of actors, but I'm not as confident that it will now. You mean the bloopers? Those were never going to mean anything. The Vic Mignogna crowd threw a fake outrage about the outtakes, trying to equate some off-colour jokes to his sexu...

It's most notable when they try to do his style of comedy. As goofy as it is, there's some restraint to it that others fail to emulate.

Re: Recording vs Buying In the 90's/2000's
As a kid, I didn't care much about "preserving", but I always kept any tapes or DVDRs recorded. Why would I throw them away? I loved Dragon Ball, and being able to watch these episodes any time I liked was great. I still have some portions of the Boo arc and GT on tapes that I've never go...

Re: What would be your ideal Dragon Ball home release?
Yes, and that rigorous process happened on the Season BDs. They just ruined it at the end with a smear/blur+sharpen filter, and a shittification of the colours, and a very time-consuming shot-by-shot reframing/cropping process. I acknowledged that. However, as you said, that means nothing when they...

Re: What would be your ideal Dragon Ball home release?
I'm not referring to an automated remastering process that simply smears the image. I want humans to clean the image properly (like with the Level Sets) and to release those with that process alone. Yes, and that rigorous process happened on the Season BDs. They just ruined it at the end with a sme...

Re: Recording vs Buying In the 90's/2000's
Preserving wasn’t really on the back of my mind as a kid. I just watched it as it aired on Toonami. I think I saw most of the Garlic Jr saga-Fusion saga as it aired. Didn’t see much of the Saiyan and Namek sagas as done by the Ocean cast and I think I didn’t see any of tie initial Funi cast take ov...

Re: What would be your ideal Dragon Ball home release?
. Frame-by-frame remaster (Level Sets) That happened on the Season BDs too; they made no secret of this in the remastering documentaries, and friends of mine have spoken to people close to the people who worked on it, who confirmed it was a proper frame-by-frame restoration. People just didn't pay ...

Re: What would be your ideal Dragon Ball home release?
. Dragon Ball , Dragon Ball Z , and Dragon Ball GT . Individual complete season releases . Individual movie releases . General retail release with good distribution . Worldwide release (where possible as there's probably some restrictions) . Blu-ray . Frame-by-frame remaster (Level Sets) . 4:3 . Eng...

Recording vs Buying In the 90's/2000's
As a child, my family used to record shows and movies to VHS as it was much cheaper than buying official releases. For shows with as many episodes as Dragon Ball, how did you choose to preserve them back in the day?

"Tenkaichi Budokai" From Official English Sources?
In an old Jakks Pacific commercial for their Dragon Ball toys (apparently from 2004), the term "Tenkaichi Budokai stadium" is used. With the exception of subtitles, has this ever been used by other official English sources?

Re: Orange Bricks vs Blu-rays (2014) - Definitive Discussion
So I checked the orange bricks and there is little to no image stabilization so you don't get that weird wably underwater effect that effected the later releases (hey a positive! lol) I don't think it's that distracting tho I understand why they'd wanna try and stabilize the footage https://im7.ezg...

Re: What version/release of DB/Z have the most accurate colors?
The dragon boxes have tint to them, as do the selectavision from what I've been able to see so those are out. Funi's [color] dbz bricks all have that washed out/bleached look. their blue DB bricks have other weird color issues too. The level sets crush blacks. The madman/funi single vhs/dvds(and UU...

Top Three Favorite Fights
While Dragon Ball is about more than just fighting, it's those fights which tend to stick with people the most. If you had to pick just three fights from the Dragon Ball franchise, which would be your favorites and why? For me, it's these three: 1. Gokou and Piccolo vs Raditz This is a fight which i...

Re: How did Toei Animation handle 4: 3 frames in Dragon Ball Kai Buu Saga?
There some cutting out details of frames and splicing them back in for the Buu arc, like this shot: https://i.imgur.com/qWwurNy.png This shot is also very terribly done. They didn't put any care into how they cut him out, so the outlines are just mostly missing, and it looks terrible as a result. I...

Dragon Ball for its narrative and use of characters, but I still have nostalgia-based reasons for watching Dragon Ball Z more frequently.

Re: Orange Bricks vs Blu-rays (2014) - Definitive Discussion
Really, if one's resorting to piracy over FUNimation's releases, it's better to download something than giving money to the bootleggers. That aside, that bootleg's encoding makes the single DVDs amazing, and the subtitles are terrible. The bricks and BDs probably win by having Simmon's subs alone. ...

Saddest part is, bootleg releases look much better than OB, how incompetent you have to be? https://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22256&p=607557&hilit=bootleg#p607557 No offense, but where those image links go to looks a little sketchy. Whoops, I'm sorry, i forgot that to...
