Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

The Kamehameha was never blue to begin with as far as the manga is concerned. In fact, in what I think was the only full color chapter it appeared in, it was white. And white isn't exactly the most interesting color choice for the "full color" manga, so that, IMO, is probably why they wen...

Their heads are a bit big, but other than that the proportions seem fine to me.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 79

And to rub it in, the cover of the new DVD of Dragon Ball Super, draw by Yamamuro.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C55V8ipU8AAmag2.jpg
Heroes artists are awesome. That Zamasu looks so off... Black looks more off to me. He seems way more muscular here than I remember. I kinda wish t...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 79

This has been bugging recently, so Imma just ask about it. In the OP, the actual tournament arena is CGI in some shots, or at least I think it is. Could that carry over to the actual tournament in the show? The only shot that looks like the arena might be CG to me is the shot of the buff dude dashi...

Re: Super and SSJ2

Highlights of Super Saiyan 2 are really just limited to Gohan vs Cell and Goku vs. Vegeta (in the buu arc of course) that's very few examples but at least they were some of the best shonen fight scenes ever put to animation so it's not like it didn't have time to shine. However since Z ended it's no...

Re: Maaan..How badass is Toppo? So Psyched!

He blocked a blast from the weakest of Universe 9's Trio in a bland manner, no theatrics, no flashyness, nothing in how he blocked it made him look badass in the slightest. If it was a blast from a much more powerful opponent, then maybe. He just held his arms out and blocked in the same way Buu di...

Re: Maaan..How badass is Toppo? So Psyched!

Maybe snuffing the blast wasn't a feat of power, maybe Toppo has the unique ability to negate ki attacks. I'm not sure that it would really impede any of the universe 7 fighters but it's still cool. Edit: Oh wait, it would probably be useful in fighting Tien. Tien's strongest technique (the neo tri ...

Re: Super coming to Spain... controversy included.

I can't claim to understand the reason behind Mr. Gavira's recasting but I believe it is most likely the wrong move. Nothing seems to indicate that he can't act any longer and if there were any behind the scenes issues bad enough to warrant kicking him off the project I doubt they would be unknown t...

Re: Does super hurt or benefit the dragon ball franchise?

Longevity: I would say it fails in this regard. The BoG RoF and Goku Black arcs are not going to age well in the slightest. The universal tournament arc and some of the filler episodes were nice but all together that's like, what? 20 episodes? Hopefully the universe survival arc will fix this. Quali...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 78

In my personal opinion the fight in episode 79 was better than most fights in Dragon Ball Z. In Dragon Ball Z most fights after Freeza arc are just random swinging of arms and legs and the occasional backflip that don't really serve any purpose other than "look these two characters are fightin...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 78

Honestly I'm not sure why so many people say there's only one shot they don't like, to me there were several points in which the faces looked really goofy, though I won't list them all here seeing as most have already been covered here. I definitely liked the fight scene animation though, especially...

Re: Toriyama's designs are unique but too simple to standout

No shit, they're gonna be simple. These aren't characters being designed for Toriyama's own manga, these are characters being designed specifically to be animated so of course they'll be less detailed and complex.

I've never liked the direction Gohan's hair has taken as he's grown older. I get that the shorter, straighter hair is supposed to make him look mature, but it comes across as so bland and uninteresting. Makes me miss his style from the Cell arc: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/dragonballrelated...

Re: The New Gods of the Universe Survival Arc Discussion Thread

Hmm... Still seems like a stretch, being a rearrangement of an abbreviation and all but maybe. A fairly common abbreviation, even in Japan. And of course, rearrangements like that are common place in Dragon Ball (like "Iwan"/"wine" and "Kitera"/"tequila", in ...

Re: The New Gods of the Universe Survival Arc Discussion Thread

Okay I see your point with most of these but how the heck do you look at "Mosuko" and get "Cosmopolitan"? Mosuko is "Cosmo" backwards in Japanese. Mo-su-ko. Ko-su-mo = Cosmo. Hmm... Still seems like a stretch, being a rearrangement of an abbreviation and all but maybe....

Re: The New Gods of the Universe Survival Arc Discussion Thread

Re: Dragon Ball Super's Biggest Star

Seeing Krillin get some love was nice but Vegeta is definitely the star character so far in the series. We see the results of his character arc that ended with the defeat of Buu with him having become much more of a family man, a way better father and husband than Goku for sure. This takes us into h...

Re: The New Gods of the Universe Survival Arc Discussion Thread

Thank you Octorockandroll. That was helpful. Now to see who the Angels are and their names. My pleasure. As for the angels, I think Universe 11's angel is going to be called "Pudding" or some japanisation of the word because she's clearly a sendoff to Harley Quinn and she could be referen...
