Re: Which movie studio should get the Dragon Ball movie righ

To drop an original project for a typical Hollywood sequel How in the hell is a DC Comics movie an 'original project'? There's far less risk to stick with a Warner project where they want you to work on it because you are considered an auteur than to work on a sequel to your own original concept th...

Re: About editing posts

Then the solution is rather simple. Edit history that staff can restore if necessary. If a member tries to burn the bridge, their forum access is removed, and the staff uses the post edit history to put things back. No idea if phpbb has it by default. I know it's a default function on vb, but not su...

Re: About editing posts

I'd say lock editing options so people can't edit after a few hours at most. By that point the conversation will either move on to new posts, or it's just unnecessary to edit.

Something, sure, no doubt, but most of it is probably that Family Guy had an extremely good night and as is standard Kai is a few hundred thousand viewers lower than the adventures of Peter Griffin and family.

Re: Resurrection F - $58.29 million Worldwide - Surpasses DB

Again I don't get it. I assume they made a mistake and meant Monday if it was at $5.97 million as of Sunday according to Funimation but that would mean it made around $330k on Monday and would have had a similar or even better theatre average than on Sunday. I think the problem is this honestly. Bo...

Mojo updated with weekend actuals, each day covered with theater counts and per screen average: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=dragonballzresurrectionoff.htm Those are the dailies for the weekend, those weren't wrong. What's wrong is the actual 'weekend' numbers, where they ...

Even if you discount Sunday numbers (which he likely didn't have as you say) F didn't have the highest theater average.

He didn't say weekend. The weekend gross hadn't even been given by the time he made his comment. It had the highest theatre average on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the week. He said 'week' on a Sunday afternoon. He never specified weekdays or anything else. Regardless, it's performance is ver...

Re: Resurrection F Box Office - $57.28 million Worldwide

I also read that RF has the highest per theater average this week? And that's a record for a limited release? Actually, not even close, the numbers being used to get that math require a bit of math trickery. For one, they are only looking at weekend numbers (not a huge deal.) Then you take the week...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion

I don't know why anyone would think they had any obligation to listen to a poll that was aimed at fans, especially when we don't actually know what the actual internal goal of the poll was. If finding this out has made you lose respect for Funimation, then I think you have a misunderstanding what al...

Re: Sean Schemmel statement

We did the best we could with DBZ with some really really crappy decisions that were made by people, who were trying to appease American audiences. If America wasn't so uptight about things and parents didn't allow the tv to babysit their children, perhaps more shows would come the U.S. and be uncu...

Re: Dragon Ball Super TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Saint Seiya? I never really got a sense of that being all that popular. The others sure, you hear about them often but I'd never heard of Saint Seiya before I got into anime and rarely ever see anyone talk about it now. It didn't even get fully dubbed in English did it? From what I've seen and hear...

I said 8.0 and top 5 would be the best and and most realistic prediction, and that was almost spot on. Btw, the incredibly popular shows Detective Conan and Doraemon didn't air this week, but judging by their current ratings trend , they most likely would've been beaten by Super. The next week (the...

And it's probably also worth wondering what Superman could do with his thought robot... (although whether that's more powerful than Prime or not is debatable.)

Re: Goku (Super Saiyan God) vs Superman-REMATCH

I guess the question is.... if they are going to use Goku as a Super Saiyan God, are they going to use Superman when he's Superman Prime from the year One Million, at effectively the peak of his power as we've seen him? Kal Kent was many times more powerful than Superman when properly charged, but w...

Toei has done it before with Dragon Ball.

The Garlic Jr. episodes of DBZ were a sequel to the movie, not a retelling.

It's not abnormal to have to go watch a movie or even an episode of another show inbetween episodes of another show.

I mean, Toei has done 'and the movie that came out awhile ago' counts for more than a few of their franchises. I don't exactly see why they wouldn't do it here.

Re: The rights of the franchise - Who is on the top?

From the looks of it, this seems to be exactly why there has been no continuation of D.Gray-Man in the last couple of years. Whatever their policy has been, at least after whatever happened with Saint Seiya and Hokuto (not fully in the loop on that), seems to heavily inforce that. Author wanted to ...
