Re: Let’s pretend that Hit actually was hiding in a pocket dimension, how does this change the narrative?
Don't bullshit me. Hit got one elimination (against someone I doubt most of you even remember the name of) in the whole tournament before (EXTREMELY PREDICTABLY) jobbing to Jiren. He also went out without leaving even a smidgen of real damage to him. That's it. You're lying to my goddamn face if yo...

Re: Mastered Ultra Instinct [Spoiler Discussion Thread]
Aesthetically, the new hair color utterly ruins it. The black hair was the main thing I liked about the design before. Toriyama's design that was shown is particularly uninspired and bland. Narratively, more pointless transformations that only exist to sell merchandise are fucking awful. Why does th...

Re: Let’s pretend that Hit actually was hiding in a pocket dimension, how does this change the narrative?
Thing is people joke about that theory, but I feel like the main reason it came about was because Hit's elimination was so poorly written and he went out with only one elimination on a fodder character. People found it hard to believe or didn't want to believe that was all there was to him. Ah yes ...

Re: Does Dragon Ball even feel like a story anymore?
Nah, none of these arcs even connect at all, and now the show is ending and very little of any importance has actually changed in the narrative. The show has no real plot reason to exist as of now, because the show always sets things up but has also done nothing with anything it set up. It's a nothi...

Re: Is it up to fans to headcanon how Goku and Vegeta can regain all their stamina in 20 seconds?
This is why Buu, because of his healing powers, objectively would have been a better choice for the tournament than Frieza from a writing standpoint. He could have done pretty much everything Frieza has done thus far, but also could have been a healer, essentially fixing the whole problem of charact...

No theories necessary. It's almost certainly just a random dude who just exists for the sake of the backstory.

Re: Were Goku and Vegeta's new outfits a mistake?
I'm certain most people agree that changing back to the old outfits was the mistake. Besides, the old ones look terrible with the blue hair, and Vegeta's was actually supposed to be stronger armor, making him swapping back make no sense even in-universe.

Re: How do you feel about certain meta jokes?
Well the Yamcha jokes are terrible and I hate them. Turning him into an in-universe joke is stupid, unfunny, and actually makes the other characters look like assholes to the guy who's supposed to be their friend. And as others have said, the horrible FighterZ localized dialogue is riddled with bad...

It's kinda upsetting that Toriyama wants almost all the angels and gods to have the same boring
type of relationship. Toyotaro had the right idea.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
You damn well know it does when it comes to money otherwise they wouldn't be making toys and so many shonen parodying his todeath. Yamcha unlike every other character was never really that respected by Toriyama. He was a jobber in the tournaments, was dumped by Bulma several times, then gets killed...

Re: For those who dislike Super, would've been better with Kikuchi or Yamamoto score?
Not to say that music isn't important, since it certainly is, but a different score wouldn't magically fix the writing and it wouldn't make my favorite characters relevant either. It would still be about a stagnant, regressed Goku and Vegeta beating up mostly wasted characters with usually average a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
because most of the fans don't care, if they did, you don't think they wouldn't raise them to prominence. This is going to hurt to hear, but honestly Yamcha is more profitable as a joke than he is as a fighter. Basically, fans accept shitty writing because they're total sheeple. This isn't technica...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
In general I guess, point is that characters don't do what It would make sense for their character to do in any given situation because Toriyama/Toyotaro/Toei are actively avoiding making them relevant because presumably, they don't consider marketable enough. Why can't anyone else, even the ones w...

Re: How do you feel about Super making Vegeta the secondary protagonist (as opposed to Gohan in Z)?
How do people stay interested in Dragonball if they don't like Vegeta/Gohan anymore? I find it rather difficult. I like Piccolo, Krillin, etc. but they hardly get any screentime anymore so I can't get excited over them outside the few eps that focus on them. I like Goku. Don't you? How do people st...

Re: How do you feel about Super making Vegeta the secondary protagonist (as opposed to Gohan in Z)?
I dislike the change because Vegeta's arc ended back in Z and they haven't done anything new with the character that warrants the huge amount of screen-time that he's been getting. He's boring now, incredibly enough. I don't mind the change too much though, since I never liked Gohan to begin with, ...
