Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I will admit this running back and forth to the past and future is getting a liiiiittle annoying, but hopefully this is the last of it.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Holy shit! Massive props to whoever I saw a few weeks ago suggesting the Mafuba. I kinda laughed at that at first, thinking it was used far too long ago to be brought up again. Excited for that!
Re: Dragon Ball Movies different english dubs
Are there any edited db episodes? (Except the first 13 ones released by BLT)? Also, did FUNimation released Movies 1 edited as well, and then they released it uncut? Yes, there were some edited VHS released if I recall correctly, those are very difficult to find now. They went from the 21st Tenkaic...

Re: Are the Japanese Dragon Boxes Worth It?
I have two of the Japanese boxes and I love them to death. However, I typically keep my manga nearby when watching an episode just in-case. If you can get a good deal, by all means do it.

Re: Dragon Ball Movies different english dubs
Information on BLT Productions is scarce, but from what i've gathered, they were some small production company that had nothing to do with Ocean. And the replacement music was done by a guy called Peter Berring (who presumably worked for BLT), not Levy, who only did music for shows Saban were affil...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies different english dubs
The history of the first 13 episodes of DB episodes 1-13 and movie 1 is a crazy one, to be quite honest. A quick breakdown: 1995: Edited episodes of episodes 1-13 air on TV, dubbed by BLT (which I usually just call the Ocean group), music by Shuki Levy, etc, etc. FUNimation skipped to Z shortly ther...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies different english dubs
Dragon Ball movies 2-4 were released just as the Z movies were released years ago, and there was also a 3-pack boxset released in 2005. The only way prior to 2010 to watch movie 1 was the "Saga of Goku" set, but it was dub only and edited, just like the episodes. FUNimation went back and r...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Well, that's not too bad. The Dragon Boxes clearly have better coloring, but at least there's no cropping going on in the singles. Of course not. Pretty much, besides the English Dragon Box, the singles are the best 4:3 release you're gonna get. Besides the eyecatches missing on occasion, they're a...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Here's a bit of a comparison for ya. These snapshots were taken in VLC, so they aren't going to be what they would look like if I ripped them and such, I have class soon so I'm in a bit of a rush. These come from DBZ episode 173: Japanese Dragon Box:
http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x273...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
All the in-house episode dvds are uncut. Some of the movies are available in cut and uncut form on dvd, but aside from that the only dvd episodes with cuts are the ones from the saban dub. Thanks! I was considering them since I heard they have the same quality footage as the Dragon Boxes. I'd get t...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Picked up the Fortuneteller Baba, Tien Shin-han and Piccolo Jr Part One two disc sets. Once I find a decent price for Part Two I'll own the entire original series minus episodes 1-13!

Re: Track By Track, the Complete Song Collection Box
Disc 4: Contains tracks from Hit Song Collections 7-9 Track 1: Detekoi Tobikiri ZENKAI Pawā! / Come Out, Incredible ZENKAI Power! (MANNA): I feel like many don't really like this song, and while it doesn't fit the series near the end of it's run during the Cell arc, it's still a fun song to me. The ...

Picked up the Commander Red set for a nice $5. Only 4 more sets (plus the R4 Saga of Goku, that one's tough to find) and I've got all of DB!

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
Wow, I was just reading through this thread and am amazed. And also, I feel pretty dumb because I got lost easily. I'm trying to find this one track that played during the fight between Jackie Chun and Goku and also in the filler of Z. Where Gohan was in fake Namek's water and he has to get out bef...

Re: Dragon Radar ~ English subs and audio for your JP Dragon Box
For sure paying attention to this thread. Just got two of the Japanese boxes, and while I know the story like the back of my hand (and have the manga) it's never a bad idea to have subtitles. Stick with it!

Not too much to write home about, but I'm quite proud of it (especially those two larger items )! It'll keep growing, for sure.

Disc 3: Contains tracks from Hit Song Collections 5-7 Track 13: Kuchibue no Kimochi / The Feeling of Whistling (Masako Nozawa): Bit of a fun story here. I would typically listen to this music in middle school gym class since we were allowed to listen to music while we did things like walk outside. ...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Well, thanks to DBZfan29 , I'm now FINALLY the proud owner of a Japanese Dragon Box, getting the 2nd Z Box and the GT box. This is kind special to me since I used to salivate reading the pages on Kanzentai (and eventually Kanzenshuu!) and always was down when I was younger because my parents didn't ...

Disc 3: Contains tracks from Hit Song Collections 5-7 Track 1: Kin-Iro Ta-ma-go / Gold-Colored Eggs (Ushio Hashimoto): My "Hashimoto shouldn't be on a faster song" complaints continue here. It's groovy, but her voice just doesn't belong here, especially with the style of music. Now, "...
