Re: Why is the Canadian/UK Blue Water dub of DBGT so hated?
I never said it's "good", it's a terrible dub aimed at 3 year olds that does no justice to what is a great show, my point is 4Kids put a lot of effort into the dub's production (since they knew the show could make them a lot of money). FUNi's dub is much better since it's how the show was...

Re: Your preferred English Dragon Ball Manga release and why
When I typed that up I was under the impression this was more of a "Let's catalog the good and bad things about each English-language release just for information's sake" thread, rather than one aimed at helping you decide how to complete your physical collection (I guess I accidentally sk...

Re: What release of the Manga was this?
An image-based Google search brings up this review from July 2003, so presumably it came out around then, if that helps narrow things down any: http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/2003/07/reviews/08/ There's also this, although the cover (while formatted similarly) isn't exactly the same: http://www...

Re: You're preferred English Dragon Ball Manga release and w
The digital releases on http://www.vizmanga.com (as opposed to the versions sold on the Kindle Store/Google Play/iBooks/whatever other services have them). Pros: - The cheapest release on a per-volume basis. Goes on sale for $5 per volume a couple of times per year. - Can be read online on the VizMa...

How do Viz's digital releases compare to Shueisha's own?
Just a little curious. I've noticed that, at least in the early volumes I've been reading so far, the gray-scaled "full" color pages seem slightly faded, with a small bit of line detail being lost, presumably as a result of the scanning process. The B&W and gray-scaled "limited&qu...

Re: New Bruce Faulconer interview from this past March
2nd best selling manga?. Which is the first time? if he means japan, it is one piece right? (bleh) but worldwide, which is it? It's One Piece on a worldwide scale, as well. 345,000,000+ copies sold worldwide, versus 230,000,000+ for DB, and 200,000,000+ for Naruto. Sources: http://www.animenewsnetw...

Re: Filler?
Speaking on the topic of filler in the Dragon Ball franchise, specifically, it's...okay. Aside from padding things like power-up sequences out way too much sometimes (and the infamous taking 10 episodes for 5 minutes to pass on Namek), the filler tends to be innocuous at worst and genuinely hilariou...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Been picking up Viz's digital releases of the manga on vizmanga.com since their holiday sale started ($5 per volume), so far I've got everything up to the end of Cell (DB 1-16 + "DBZ 1-19" [17-35]). Will probably wait a little bit to get the last 7 volumes. One Piece 73 comes out on the 6t...

Re: For dub fans, how much of a deal breaker is Nozawa's Gok
A quick question on the subject of Nozawa, do you think when Nozawa retires/passes away they'll get another old woman/imitator to replace her for new DB related media in Japan? I've often wondered this same thing. I doubt they'll specifically look for a woman of any particular age (if anything, the...

Re: Where would you have ended the series?
Probably after Cell, with Trunks going back and restoring peace to his timeline as an epilogue. The Buu saga, while enjoyable in it's own way, didn't really add much of value to the series besides fodder for power-level arguments and video game rosters. I suppose it also gave some closure to Vegeta'...

Re: Did you notice the cast/score change growing up?
Nope. I somehow noticed the title cards being less fancy, but I was too young and/or excited over the fact that they were actually airing new episodes to really notice or care about the voice and music differences.
