Re: Unpopular DB opinions
^That's true. Saiyan Saga is a fitting end to Dragon Ball even if means Yamcha, Piccolo, Chiotzu, and Tenshenhan are gone forever.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The first US opening (Rock the Dragon) also spoiled: Goku going super saiyan, Vegeta being a super saiyan, and the existence of Trunk and him also going Super Saiyan

I suppose it was done to allow switching being the Japanese score and English score to be seamless?

Re: Is the Japanese Version Underrated?
GameFaq and IGN are cesspools though
It does need to be said that ouside this forum the American DBZ with the funi in house cast and uncut with the Faulconer score is the most popualr version among casuals.

Re: Would you like to see Japan do a live-action DB feature?
To be fair every adapation has either been no budget or misses the point.
Like Dragon Ball Evolution there was no reason to miss as many points as they did

^Yeah like I said I wish Pioneer had picked up distribution rights after Saban dropped it beyond the 3 movies. The Ocean cast with the Japanese score and Pioneer's lax standards? Yes please.
DBZ Kai is the only way to watch the in-house Funi dub imho.

Re: Thoughts on Brian Drummond's Vegeta?
I don't know, Sabat's Vegeta still sounds incredibly forced. It's a lot better than when he started, of course, but it's not great. I think that Sabat's PIccolo and non-surfer Yamucha sound a lot more natural than Vegeta. Team Four Star's Vegeta sounds a lot more natural than Sabat's, to be honest....

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The training part or really the whole Saiyan filler is probably the best/most tolerable filler. Some of the episodes particularly the Gohan ones were quite good.
Consider how awful the Namek filler was.

The Dragon Boxes were the ones were the English dub track was added at the last second right?
I noticed the Funimation stream (and I assume Orange Brick set?) still use the English dub titles so we still get those lame uninspired titles like "Gohan goes Bananas"

Oh yep. Found it. The piece was called "Courage fills the heart" from Kai's score.
Damn shame he stole most of his compositions because Yamamoto's score was my favorite Dragon Ball score.

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
Not sure if its part of the Kikuchi score but I assume it is since Dragon Ball Z abridged tends to mostly pull its music from there but what's that sort of rising hope/ triumphant music TFS used a couple times? They used it when Super Kami Guru is falsely building Nail up as Namek's number one son a...

Why does the uncut dub with Japanese music not played Head Cha la
I don't own the season boxset just a boxset of the first five movies but I noticed that they and the episodes on FunimationNow don't play Head Cha la instead they use an instrumental opening.
They do play the Japanese ending however.
Any reason for this?

Re: Did Funimation ever redub season 3?
I thought dubbing was cheap? Isn't that why dub voice actors are paid crap and dubbing was so enticing to companies like Saban and Funimation and 4Kids in the first place. All the animation had been done for them?

Re: Thoughts on Brian Drummond's Vegeta?
The issue is even if people do bring up good points this is all based on opinions so anyone could just go "lolno, its all nostalgia you just won't admit it". And I have had this conversation before as well and my anecdotal evidence disagrees with your anecdotal evidence. You could easily ...

^Especially with how good the Ocean cast sounded in the first two seasons and how much better the funi cast soundes in the redub of the first two seasons compared to the third.
No matter how you're watching there is a noticable drop in quality voice acting anyways.

Re: Would you like to see Japan do a live-action DB feature?
He's a loud obnoxious showy wrestler Mr. Satan is the whitest guy ever in DBZ. Not sure about Bulma being white vs Japanese though. Goku needs to be Japanese. If its an unacceptable for Superman to be anything but white than its unacceptable for Goku to not be Japanese Personally I think you can do ...

Re: Thoughts on Brian Drummond's Vegeta?
How queer I'm watching the Saban dub now and just getting to Vegeta and Nappa arriving on earth. Eh I grew up more so with the later Funimation in-house episodes and Chris Sabat's Vegeta is kind of iconic for American DBZ. His voice oddly fits but it sounds much more...Saturday Morning Cartoon Villa...
