Re: Is Dragon Ball the Star Wars of anime?
DB has undoubtedly been a major game-changer and definer to the anime genre. I think even Akira Toriyama himself was shocked and unprepared at how big it became. Looking at anime history (my knowledge is only broad strokes though), before DB anime was divided into gag comedies and serious action. DB...

Re: Does anyone find post-Trunks Bulma annoying?
Wow, I didn't think my thread would get like this. But people are looking at Bulma in general. I thought she became annoying after she got with Vegeta and had Trunks. That part is a mystery that I don't think will be resolved or seen, so that could be troublesome. But I think that marriage and...

Re: Does anyone find post-Trunks Bulma annoying?
Thank you all for your comments. I'm glad I'm not alone in this sentiment. In DBS, she even insulted her own future self who died. (But at least they made fun of her aging and she contributed a time machine to help future Trunks) Wait what? It happened in Dragon Ball Super, around episode 49 (A Mess...

Does anyone find post-Trunks Bulma annoying?
Bulma is Goku’s first friend, and perhaps the premier lady of the Dragon Ball saga, but I have never really liked her a lot. I find her to be far too pushy and arrogant. But I think that in the early years of DB she was fairly okay and appealing. A vain character either makes a major contribution to...

Re: Why can heart virus, poision and diseases still kill Goku?
Once lethal stuff gets inside a Saiyan's body it's dangerous. Germs and poisons (and psychic attacks eg Capt Ginyu) are more dangerous since they're not direct fighting.

Re: Gohan and Trunks personalities compared to their parents
I'd call it the human part of their personality, as they are both half-human half-Saiyan, which overrules their fighting ability and makes them more reasonable and logical. Also both at a young age were pushed into a fighting world, just like their dads. But their moms gave them stability: Chi-Chi m...

Re: What if Beerus met Great King Yamma?
Compared to Enma, we've seen those of higher rank (Kaiō / Kaiōshin) and lower rank (Shenlong) respond to him in a nearly identical fashion. "O-Oh, the fearsome Lord Beerus! Fancy meeting you here! What a lovely surprise! Please leave, please leave, please leave! Well, if you'll excuse me... *r...

What if Beerus met Great King Yamma?
One guards the border between the realms of the living and dead, and the other is in charge of necessary destruction. Is it fair to say that the two are peers?
If that's the case, then perhaps they should meet in the future.

The BOG arc says they wished on Shenron to get their youth back because they were elderly, but the wish was misinterpreted and they ended up as kids.TheZFighter wrote:I was wondering though, do we know how/ why main timeline Pilaf, Shu and Mai turned into kids?

I heard that Tien settled down with Launch.
This deserves a mention someday because it sounds awesome.

Re: Why does Mai hang around with Pilaf anyway?
I think we're looking deeper into this than intended. Mai and Shu were Pilaf's henchman, because that's how they were created. We won't get any serious backstory to them, and I don't think they need any. But it's interesting to note that thanks to BoG, Mai is now Trunks' girlfriend and has turned in...

Re: Masako Nozawa Appreciation Thread
Masako Nozawa is awesome. She is to DB what Peter Cullen is to Transformers: someone with an iconic voice that you can't really imagine anyone else doing. When I first heard her voice, I was surprised because it was a little boy voice for one of anime's greatest heroes. But after a while, I got used...

Thanks for the 360 view gif.Marco Polo wrote:
It still looks very animated, but then that's part of DBZ's charm. Some things as a drawing won't be as good in a three-dimensional format. I'm surprised the video game designers could manage to design his hair in CGI.

Does anyone know how Goku's hair works out?
It's so incredibly two-dimensional (as seen below), how do the video games pull off its 3-dimensional aspect? How does one even make a wig from it?
