Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19
This is going to be disgusting, but I wonder if the coronavirus is going to increase the chances of Ocean Kai airing in Canada on account of it being "new" content while current and upcoming programming gets postponed or cancelled left and right. I mean, sure, it's only one show, but still.

Re: Preserving the Nicktoons Airings of DB Material
The DB Wiki is shit. It has been shit for a long time now. At various points it made up techniques IIRC.

Re: Freeza Saga Son Gohan humming Makafushigi Adventure in French dub
The French OPs were different, but the rest of the music was not. It wouldn't surprise me if the French actors had some level of familiarity with the Kikuchi score and its various motifs.
Wasn't there an episode of the Saban dub where Bulma sang a bit of the BLT DB theme to herself?

Re: Preserving the Nicktoons Airings of DB Material
And I guess that does also de-values a lot of the Nicktoons preservation, knowing that pretty much everything non-Kai is basically the Toonami versions It doesn't devalue it that much. If anything, it means that the old Toonami stuff that was rerun on Nicktoons was more likely to have better qualit...

Re: Are There Any Updates On The Harmony Gold Dub Of Dragon Ball?
What do you mean by being the same master but not the same footage at the same time? This is pure guesswork: Theory 1: Japanese -> HG edited with M/E -> HG English -> Zero y El Dragon Magico (ep 1-5) Japanese -> HG edited with M/E -> Producciones Salgado (ep 1-5) Theory 2: Producciones Salgado rema...

Re: Are There Any Updates On The Harmony Gold Dub Of Dragon Ball?
The Solar Entertainment dubs have been on archive.org for months. Are these new rips? Edit: Ah, I see. There haven't been any new transfers made since the last upload... which actually appears to have been done late in 2018. Guess I forgot when they were uploaded... Still, since the aforementioned 2...

Re: Are There Any Updates On The Harmony Gold Dub Of Dragon Ball?
For your information, the early episodes of the Latin American Spanish dub (Cloverway) still uses the footage inherited from Zero y el Dragôn Mágico, so it's the very same transfer as that of the Harmony Gold dub. The same edits? Probably. The same master? probably. The same footage? probably not. ...

Re: Which dub is more faithful to the original audio?
Icarus is the Funimation dub name for what you're probably familiar with as Haiya Dragon, who appeared in DBZ Movies 3-5 as well as the Garlic Jr saga. Also, my impressions of the BKS opening and ending themes of the DB trilogy dub? Yeah, trying to shoehorn the lyrics of Makafushigi Adventure into W...

You were able to get English fansubs? I was under the impression that most of those were sold in the US. The NTSC/PAL difference probably didn't help matters either. How were you able to acquire them?

Re: Which dub is more faithful to the original audio?
I think you mean "popular". "poplar" refers to a kind of tree. As for Studio Gabia DBZ Movie 3... I knew that theatrical Tree of Might was edited, but what was cut exactly? Turles's henchmen trowing the seeds of the tree in the ground, Gohan playing with Icarus, Icarus looking to...

Re: Which dub is more faithful to the original audio?
You seem like you didn't read my post. I wrote French dub of super and the new movies. I could add Kai there too. I did read your post. Has to be the Spanish Mexican dub for Z. Not sure about what's the most accurate dub for the rest but I'm content with the french dub. You didn't mention Super or ...

Re: Which dub is more faithful to the original audio?
I thought the list was only about English dubs. Once you bring in other languages to the mix, things get more complicated... The Latino Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese dubs, for the most part, tend to be really good from an accuracy standpoint (or so I've heard. English is the only language I speak...

Re: First time home media release?
Good chance that the earliest home media releases came from France or one of the dubs of Spain, due to their beginning several years before the English language BLT dub of 94/95.

Re: Dragon Ball Super International News & Speculation (Read First Post)
"the third season of the anime" what the fuck. So is Super the "third season" of DB, with Z/Kai being the "second season"? Of course, have all the high-quality toy lines you want... a consistent dub that doesn't cause major changes like only adapting 52 episodes a pop (...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased
Wasn't the Albanian dub (the one that the DB International Guide spreadsheet lists as aired on "Bang Bang" and "Cufo") in its entirety a bootleg that at some points blatantly used online encodes and ended up mixing in music in weird placements or something?
