Re: What in the Universe Survival Arc did you hate most?
No true elements of surprise throughout most of the arc, except until the end. But in between ...No plots, no unexpected turn of events, no real schemes, no side stories, no battle tension, and no character development. This arc had potential, but completely wasted it in my opinion. It was just dum...

Re: C-17= Future Trunks 2.0?
They brought back these 2 from DragonBall Z, they powered them up to the point where they can compete with God level characters (Trunks Vs Merged Zamasu, C-17 Vs SSJ Blue Goku) and in the end they did let them get the victory and stand out just to sell more toys with these old forgotten characters ...

Re: Events that "defeat" tension from previous ones
What tension?... This tournament failed to give off a real threatening vibe right from the start, so I already had the suspicion that this arc would never become very serious in the first place. It was a reasonably light hearted arc with only some serious fighting in the end, and I was never once do...

Re: What about Super disservice with characters like Goten, Trunks and Yamcha?
I think the problem with Yamcha is that he is, and always has been a gag character, and I would say that he was the character that was least able to escape that pre-conception a long with the Pilaf gang. They're not particularly popular characters, and a lot of their popularity stems from their com...

Re: Do you think we'll ever have an arc where Vegeta is the one who defeats the main enemy?
As much as I want him to, I know it won't happen. Toriyama talked about how he wanted Vegeta to be the hero for once, and look that hasn't happened. Why? Super is one big Goku circlejerk so of course it would focus on Goku. Even gohan, who once defeated a main antagonist, is irrelevant. At least Ve...

Re: The themes of trust and selflessness in the last episode of the ToP clash with the rest of the arc
Okay, so this has been on my mind for a while. It's undeniable that the beginning of the Tournament of Power established that Goku & co are all very selfish individuals, with their own desires and motivations, and who will absolutely not work together. Goku starts the entire tournament by selfi...

Re: What about Super disservice with characters like Goten, Trunks and Yamcha?
To me, it's more about quality than quantity This about sums it up, Super is all about quantity instead of quality. In the TOP there were so many characters involved it considerably thinned any individual characterization they should have given them. It made them bland and uninteresting as individu...

Re: Do you think we'll ever have an arc where Vegeta is the one who defeats the main enemy?
I'd say after all this time he finally deserves to be the nr 1 for once instead of being used as a measuring tool for Goku all the time. In DBZ I mostly didn't mind when he failed because he was such a huge prick all the time, but the Vegeta in Super is a whole different person who I'm actually star...

Re: Will Frieza use his experience in the ToP to become a more dedicated martial artist?
Frieza has the natural ability for incredible power, but he's also inclined to make people do his bidding and make them do all the fighting for him.
He only gets into serious fighting if there's absolutely no other way he'll win.
He's rather lazy in that regard.

Re: The Goku-Vegeta rivalry is the most overrated rivalry in fiction and should be concluded in Super
Of course they are no longer enemies and Vegeta has grown a lot as a person throughout the series. But they will always be rivals, Vegeta's purpose in life is to be the best one day so he'll probably never stop trying to outperform Goku. That's just how he is. When it comes to every sport everyone w...

Quite peculiar that he was so strong in the TOP though, outlasting the likes of Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan.
Hunting poachers must be one hell of a training.

Re: Now that Super is finished, what is the overall consensus of the series?
Honestly, as for my own personal most prominent thought about this series as a whole? 131 Goddamn episodes and Gohan NEVER got to be awesome, not even once. As of now he is still weaker than shit when compared against other fighters. Goku, Vegeta, 17, Freeza, Future Trunks. What do thse guys have i...

Re: Now that Super is finished, what is the overall consensus of the series?
And the anime art is way too scrawny for my taste, if I want to watch stick people I'll go watch America's next top model instead. :problem: To be fair, in the last parts of this tournament, the art has gone back to the bulky muscles a bit thanks to Takahashi, Shida, and sometimes Yammamuro. They w...

Re: Now that Super is finished, what is the overall consensus of the series?
I consider it mediocre at best. Some things I enjoyed, but I still didn't like many things about it. Like the fact that the characters seem to be frozen in time, there are no mayor changes to them despite the progress of time. Goten and Trunks being the prime example. And There is almost no battle d...

Re: I made a compilation of all DBS Toriyama's character designs, what do you think of his artstyle? UPDATED
The anime art is one of the main reasons DBS fell flat for me.
The characters in Super are almost chibi looking with scrawny bodies and absolutely no muscle tone, In other words 'stick people'.
Some people like this style but I vastly prefer the old style in DB/Z.

Make it more serious, Super was too mellow for my taste. (with the exception of the Zamasu arc.)
